Default I get so frustrated with the governing bodies!

It's not one thing but many... Over many years.

I mean, when they were splintered into the WBO, IBF, WBC and WBA it devalued titles... It made it hard for fans to follow and basicly alienated fans who don't keep track of the day in day out. Then they add interim titles, superchampions and regular champions...

...Not to mention the addition of super and jr weight classes.

Then to further muddle the picture there is no reasoning behind who fights for a title... I mean, from time to time they'll have eliminators and it's to bexpected that the #1 will fight the champion... But then sometimes they step aside...

Then sometimes a guy not even rated will be able to fight for a title on name alone.

    I'm disgusted...

I don't mind the addition of weightclasses so much personally, I think although it might have been for the wrong reasons, a little bit of weight makes a big difference particularly the lower your weight & would be a must since the advent of previous day weigh-ins.

The governing bodies are fucking stupid though, but one argument some one once said was that if the alphabets were all one, then it would be too easy for a single promoter to get hold of them & control boxing, as it was in the older eras. It's bad enough that Bob Arum practically runs the entire boxing media, I'd hate it if that bastard was in charge of the titles as well.

I feel you, all hardcore boxing fans hate the alphabet organizations. They have made a mockery of the sport for all too long. I wouldn't be surprised if the newly created IBO starts becoming the 5th recognized major belt. But then all of the hardcore fans knows who are the legit champs and contenders and don't really follow the alphabet straps.

It's all a crock of shit and makes a mockery of boxing. It's practically impossible to take this sport seriously anymore. Every fighter seems to have a strap of some kind or other. It's meaningless.

I follow the fighters that interest me and beyond that I really pay no attention to the belts involved. The system is all in my head, I know who the best fighters in any division are and a meaningless strap has no bearing upon that. "Oh, Joe Bloggs was a 20 division champion, he is so great". It's meaningless and really doesn't mean anything anymore.

Its the worst thing about morden day boxing IMO.

Puts a lot of casual fans off the sport coz its almost impossible to follow.

Shite PPV fights based on these titles do not help either.
