    Default Randall Bailey

After having maritals in a motel room last night with my girlfriend, I flipped on the TV and they were showing Bailey vs. Ishe Smith on ESPN Classic last night.

It was a pretty good fight from a few years back, and I'd have to say Bailey got screwed on the decision. At least with one judge givin it 117-111 to Ishe Smith.

Anyway I've always really liked Randall Bailey even though he is very one dimensional. He almost KO'd Juan Urango last time out, but Juan has a ton of heart and got up to batter Bailey and stop him.

Any more Randall Bailey fans out there? Anyone think he can get another world title before he's done?
The man can punch with that right hand. Its lethal.

I think Bailey is more highly rated on this particular message board then anywehre on the planet, he should at least post here once or twice.

So you think I"m overrating him?

Or that he's overrated by everyone on Saddo's?

    I'm confused...

All I said was I like the guy, he is one dimensional but he can punch.

Yea I don't know that anyone overrates him as a whole, but there's no denying his power is ridiculous. I don't think there's anyone in the sport who hits harder pound for pound, on a one punch basis.

I agree. Pacquaio, Darchinyan and Bailey are all very hard hitters for their weights.

Yea, and obviously those two guys(moreso Pacquiao) dwarf Bailey as far as ability goes, but on a one punch basis I think he blows either of them right out of the water. Bailey just lacks the skillset to set up his right hand differently, Pacquiao is so fast and unorthodox that he can pull the trigger at basically any point in the fight, going backwards or forwards, off balance, etc. from many different angles. Bailey really just has that one straight right hand that follows the jab, but if he lands it, he's doing serious damage to his opponent, whether they see it coming or not. On that basis I think he's got to be considered one of the best pure punchers in the sport. Hell, for his weight he may pack more of a punch than anyone has in a long time.

Yes he is a HUGE puncher with that right hand. Its just all he has really. His jab isn't all that good, or his hook or uppercuts or combos.

He just stalks his opponent firing one-twos and lead right hands. Occasionally a jab, jab, straight right as well.

That shot he caught Frankie Figuerero with was something else.

Only morons rate his power for real, I think his right hand is a fraud.

Bailey does have huge power but like Shavers and Julian Jackson they rely on them too much and against the elite fighters they get exposed and out boxed. Unless they get lucky with their big punch.

Watching Bailey is edge of the seat kind of stuff, you just never know what might happen. He is a huge puncher and that gives him some chance in every fight he has. It keeps the fans interested, no one can take Bailey lightly, i think Mike Jones did and he paid the penalty. Bailey is limited and one dimensional, his only A list fight resulted in a loss to Cotto, who beat him up pretty bad, other than that fight he has done extremely well with what talent he does have and to his credit he keeps on surprising. You can never count Randall Bailey out in any fight, 37 KO's from 43 wins tells you he is always dangerous.
    Good luck to him.
