Default Fighters who lost their first fight and went on to win a major title......

Alright lets see how many we can think of here. I'll start with some obvious ones.

Bernard Hopkins, Alexis Arguello and Miguel Canto
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

You think Historians should not equate Rafael's 1st loss because it was against an experienced fighter?

and also Nacho thought it was an exhibition match?

Here's a good one ...... how many of you knew this ........

Rocky Marciano, the only undefeated heavyweight Champion is history actually lost his first fight.

He signed up for an semi-pro fight, under the name Rocky Mack and had undertrained and ran out of gas. He fouled his opponent out and was diqualified. The fight was never counted on his record as he had not passed the medicals or received his amateur card.

It wasnt a mistake he made again!

I believe Rocky lost 2 fights as an amateur- the other one being to Coley Wallace by a decision.

But as one of his opponents once said, in a 3 round fight, many could have beat him, but not in a 15 round fight.
