There have been rumors about this fight for over a year now. Chavez Jr. was quoted as saying his offer is still open for Canelo to get in the ring with him on ESPN deportes just a few minutes ago.

For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
this fight would take place way too soon! these guys are just top prospects. let them each win world titles and build up their legacies before they fight.
I'm still nowhere near sold on Alvarez. He's going to look spectacular against the reanimated corpse of Carlos Baldomir, but he still has things (ie defense) that he needs to work on. I might actually favor Chavez Jr. to beat him at this point, though I'm not sure about that.
Chavez Jr. has a naturally much bigger frame. I think it would be an exciting match, Alvarez has a very exciting throwback style. Chavez Jr. looked great against Duddy a very smart and damaging style.
I would like to see this fight even though I favor Chavez Jr, I think it's one of those fights that would be entertaining to even casual fans.

Ist thing that comes to mind is Canelo needs more network exposure and Chavez jr needs less Jr seems to have a style, cough, which would trouble Alvarez right now and lean his way. Maybe Im off the rocker but I think Baldomir will give him some fits.
Can't see the fight happening...
Both bring in cash.
Similar to Bute-Pascal now.
I'd favor Alvarez on activity/output.
No contest. Saul beat Miguel Vazquez twice. This is the same Vazquez who schooled Breidis Orescott (who waxed Khan) and who just beat Ji-Hoon Kim for the vacant IBF lightweight title. Canelo also waxed Raul Pinzon in one--the same Pinzon whoo gave Ricardo Torres fits.
Saul Alvarez would walk through Junior and beat him like a rug.
