    Default Brinkley wins!

Obviously, I'm from Nevada so I'm rooting for the hometown guy to win. But, realistically, does he really have a chance? Lucian Bute looks like a killer...

Bute knocks him out in 1, at most 2 rounds

Oh noooo! Bute may have a hard punch but Brinkley is one tough MF and he can take a punch. I predict a long, hard fought battle. The distance? Maybe not, but 7+ rounds for sure.

not only does Bute hit hard, but he's extremely accurate, he'll catch Brinkley off balance and counter him and knock him cold or shut him down with a brutal body shot like he did Andrade, Brinkley is just gonna get a nice paycheck, nothing else

Brinkley is durable, but I think he ends up stopped mid-rounds.

He's not fightning Edison Miranda...Brinkley is a tougher nut IMO. For Brinkley to have any chance I think he has to land a money punch that rocks Bute. Bute isnt bulletproof, Andrade showed everyone that, you just gotta be solid any not let him dictate the pace. Brinkleys best bet is to go out guns blazing.

Brinkley has looked ok in recent outings, but come on guys he was stopped by Joey Spina for fuck's sake! He needed the worst robbery of all time to beat Anthony Bonsante.

This should be a cakewalk for Lucian Bute.

BUT I would LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE it if Brinkley was to somehow cause an upset. As most of you know I think Bute is one of the most overatted fighters in the sport, I mean it's ridiculous. We all know nothing good has ever come out of Canada, they are a nation bound to mediocrity (sorry CFH and Youngblood, no offence guys, but you know, your country is very bland and unimportant in the scale of things, it's like Belgium or Switzerland but bigger) and they have never had any sporting greats of any note.

Bute will get exposed soon enough (if you don't think Andrade did it already), but I don't think Brinkley will be the man to do it.

If he somehow does though I shall certainly be creating many vitriolic little anti Bute threads

I'm not completely sold on Bute just yet, but, he will absolutely destroy Brinkley, probably inside 6 with comfort. Sorry ElPero

Why do you hate Bute? Who out of the available options do you want to see Bute face?

Brinkley is a tough worker and he's earned his title shot. Credit due to him. Bute is on a different level, however, and he will stop Brinkley inside 10. The best scenario for Brinkley is that he makes this an entertaining fight, a fight that propels him into other matches where he'll make some good money.

Bute should handle Brinkley well, but Brinkley has earned this shot and this payday.

I think it will end within 6 rounds, with Brinkley's face a bloody mess.

I'm rooting for Brinkley to get the upset though.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

haha yes the great world sports of ice hockey and MMA

I remember from playing Electronics Arts version of hockey that the only nations who played it and were any good were USA, Canada, Russia and Sweden. Not exactly a world sport, it's like saying the UK has produced such elite sportsmen as Ronnie O'Sulliven and Phil Taylor
