Ref for Pac Margo fight is Laurence Cole

Horrible, horrible ref. I'm not saying he's gonna be biased to either fighter on the 13th, but poor decision IMO. This guy shouldn't be handling big fights. I don't even think he should be refereeing amateur fights. Made too many mistakes in the past. Here's hoping Cole would have the acumen come fight night since the bout could potentially end up being slug fest.

Been long enough I've forgotten what it was...he does do one thing that bugs me, which is he will get in there and slap away hands when he thinks someone is holding.Oh yeah, he told JMM he was up on the cards with that cut, lol ok maybe he's not the best choice...

Everytime I see cole ref a fight I wana punch myself, he's horrible and usually very biased towards one fighter/ don't think that will be the case here, but why basically get one of the worst refs out there It's like when you watch a big fight and they have 2 judges with "no notable fights" what the f that always stinks to high heaven and makes me suspicious.

Last one I saw was Abraham Dirrell fight. I'm not even sure if he's biased towards any one fighter. I just think he's incompetent as a ref. I'm guessing he got the job 'cause his father Dickie Cole pulled some strings for him. Now I've never been vocal about refs cause most of the time they just make sporadic bad calls, but Laurence seems consistent enough making terrible calls.

I was thinking why not Tony Weeks or Kenny Bayless. Those guys are excellent refs but I don't know if the NSAC would loan them to Texas for a match.

What's really peculiar is why Laurence Cole still gets to referee in high profile fights when he shouldn't even be allowed to come within a mile away from a boxing ring. Oh well, I guess having your dad in a high ranking position in the Texas boxing commission does have its advantages.

OK so here are some of the muggings...I mean "fights" Laurence Cole has been a part of
1. JMM vs Jaca - He tells JMM he's up on the cards if he doesn't feel like he wants to continue
2. Malinaggi-Diaz 1 - Cole said the cut to Diaz was 1st caused by a punch and then widened by a clash of heads and I believe if I'm not mistaken he ruled it a clash of heads but Hell it's Texas and Juan fucking Diaz it may as well have been caused by the Tooth Fairy
3. Juarez-John
4. Pacquiao-MAB 1 - Cole rules a legit knockdown of MAB as a slip
5. Abraham-Dirrell - He missed 2 knockdowns 1 for AA 1 for Dirrell (when AA got knocked into the ropes which held him up) and when AA had Dirrell on the ropes for no reason Cole broke them up and moved the fight back to the center of the ring
6. Camacho Jr.-Yuri Boy Campas - Larry did NOT DQ Hector Jr. in just a God awful display of fighting

And I am trying my damnedest to find which fight Cole was the ref in where he did so poorly the fans threw trash at him. I believe it was an ESPN fight, Teddy Atlas talked a lot of shit about him at that point too.

If I was Pacman and Gale Van Hoy shows up as a judge then I'd come up with some sort of injury or illness in order to keep this fight from happening.

Cole is an egomaniac, a very bad trait for a referee. I don't know, I think it will be a fairly clean fight.
