If you take Roger's word as the truth, then you will have to take his word when he says that Floyd Mayweather Jr won't fight Sergio Martinez. In fact, according to Roger Mayweather, he's on the 'inside' so you have to believe his word and not others who are just speculating.

In a recent interview, Roger Mayweather colorfully explained how there's no money in fighting Martinez. And if there's no money, then there's no point in fighting.
Roger Mayweather quotes are from The Boxing Truth Radio:

"Man that fight don't mean sh*t. That fight don't make no money. It's about making money. That's what you're in the sport for. If the fight don't make no money, then it don't make no sense."
Roger was adamant that his nephew won't fight Sergio. Forget the fact that Martinez is a champion in 2 weight classes. Forget the fact that Martinez (45-2) is regarded as one of the top 10 pound-for-pound fighters in the world. It all comes down to money. But we're not just talking about a few dollars here.

"Can he do a $100 million dollar fight with Martinez? Nope, ok then. So, it don't make any sense."

With Floyds ego I say yes, he'll want to gun for the 6th weight div belt before taking on PAC. Wait a sec against a quickslick and strong southpaw Maybe

Oh hell no! Ain't no way Floyd is taking a big risk without there being money in it is just pure BS. There ain't no other mega draw out there other than Pacquiao so who else is out there but a title holder like Martinez. Martinez after that KO is a draw although not a mega draw he's as big a draw as anyone else out there.

Hey Roger, here are some names you can explore. How about JCC jr. or Cotto? Oh how about a rematch with Mosley. And then there is Mathew Hatton.

First and foremost, sky should be cleared for him and his uncle before preparing to fight anybody at all. Before that, nothing will happen and it could, in my opinion, take up to a year or something before these boiling cases are off once and for all. As Mayweather is all about money at first, I think he would try to fight Manny first before he retires to become a politician as it would be the best move moneywise and by far. I am not sure Mayweather would take a risk against Martinez as it wouldn't be rewarding enough money/risk wise and a lost against him could mean a lot less leverage to negotiate with Manny and Bob Arum.

The way I see it Floyd will either take on Miguel Cotto or Andre Berto next figuring Cotto is damaged and anything Berto can do Floyd can do better....both Martinez and Pac are dangerous southpaws.

I don't think there is an easy meaningful fight left for Floyd...Manny is in the cat-bird seat right now.

Longshot possibility that Floyd tries out Khan or JC Jr. to test himself vs Roach.

Neither Pacquiao nor Mayweather are going to take big risky fights at this point until its against each other.

Boxing fans just need to accept this and realize boxing is a business.

Pac don't take risks? He takes more risks than Floyd does so don't even go there trying to put them on the same level. Fucking hell.

there's a better chance floyd be a good boy to avoid getting these misdemeanors and to fight pac 50-50 without drug tests by next year than fight martinez. if martinez fights pac or floyd, he comes out on top for sure. no point in pitting these guys against martinez.

if floyd does accept a fight with martinez, he would be respected by a lot of boxing fans, even more than pac.

Are you sure Mayweather knows that this 'jr middle' isn't a war weary lightweight great fighting two weight divisions out of his best range like Jmm

He's in catch up mode with Manny...has been for along time. He needs to make a bold statement as a fighter... and not as a business man for once.
