    Default Best Rising Middleweight

It seems like it's been a few years since the middleweight division was this deep. Sergio Martinez holds the top spot, but he isn't the be-all-and-end-all in the division. Who's the best of the rest?

    Felix Sturm
    Daniel Geale
    Dimitry Pirog
    Gennady Govetkin
    Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam
    Fernando Guerrero
    Ishe Smith
    Danny Jacobs
    Matthew Macklin
    Matvey Korobov
    David Lemiuex

Dimitry Pirog is definitely one to watch.
You seem to have mentioned quite a few. I'd add Emmanuel Steward's Andy Lee to the list, pending his rematch with Vera

i don't think pirog should be on this list because he's already a world champion. anyways, i think fernando guerrero, lemieux and korobov are definitely the best of the up and comers.

That is true. I included Sturm too who is a champion. Check out Gennady Govotkin - he may be the best on the list. And I've heard that the Frenchman, N'Jikam isn't half bad although I haven't seen him fight. I guess my point is that the division is beginning to look pretty deep.

I should have included Andy Lee, Ian McKewan and Peter Quillin.

I voted for Matthew Macklin. Just a blind guess.

Don't particularly rate any of them.

I'll go for two not on your list.

    Matt Korobov and Darren Barker.

I think Darren Barker should be on the list. He didn't look great last time I saw him, but he is 22-0 and improving. I think he's better than Macklin at this stage. Hopefully we will get to see that fight soon.

Korobov, Pirog and Lemieux strong. I'd personally take Smith and put him on the curb...know its premature but willing to bet that Jacobs will not be a primetime player, ever.

Not counting the title holders I would vote for Korobov.

I voted Sturm. I think he's the best middleweight outside of Martinez. Definitely the most accomplished from that list. Just wish he'd fight some big names in 2011

Lemiuex or Pirog if I had to pick, Lemieux has thudding power, pirog has power and a weird awkward style, granted only seen 2 of his fights. Sturm might be the best out of the list but is content with fighting mostly second tier guys in germany, his next opponent once again is tba in february.

Sturm is already an accomplish fighter. He kicked DLH ass.

Lemieux and Pyrog - People will understand how good is Lemieux after is fight with Rubio.

Lemieux has the same problem Valero had coming up, he's just blasting everyone out so it's impossible to tell how he'll deal with adversity. I really like him though, definitely one of the hardest hitters in pro boxing at the moment.
