Apparently this is more likely than Teon Kennedy as an opponent as Showtime feel Cordoba is more of a name thanks to his exposure in losing to Rigondeux on the Pacquiao-Mosley undercard.

Since Ricardo has lost to both Bernard Dunne and a pro novice in Rigondeux, not to mention he has fought almost exclusively at 122, I really can't see him being able to cope with the power and skill of Juanma. Seems more like a gimme at home before the Marquez rematch and Gamboa fights.

I don't personally understand what the Kennedy talk is all about in truth...How the hell is he even really relevant? He has only 15 or so fights, he is not a big puncher and he has not put anyone elite on his resume...So in truth I don't personally think the guy is ready for that level yet, Be it JuanMa, Gamboa, Celeste, RM etc.....I don't dislike the guy as a fighter because he has not been at the upper tier long enough...He has had only about 4 fights with opp that has winning records.....I don;t knhow why they try to rush these guys in fights that they know can not only turn out bad for them but ruin them mentally as a fighter....If there was a choice between the 2 I agree Cordoba would be a more worthy fight

I totally agree. Maybe he became a mandatory for JuanMa's belt? Either way, I think Showtime should nix that idea. I like the Cordoba fight more than Litzau. Litzau is going to get beat up by any one of these guys.

I really want one of them to fight Chris John. It's a shame if John falls off before a fight with one of them happens. I thought John was set to fight Gamboa?

I don't know anything about Kennedy, even though I think JML wins against either I'd prefer to watch him against Cordoba. Is anything besides an undefeated record and a gimmie date for Lopez pushing Kennedy towards a shot?

I agree, I had little interest in Teon Kennedy. I just thought he might have taken on a tried and tested Featherweight rather than a guy who struggled at 122 with Rigondeux. I'm not trying to rain on Juanma's parade, my argument is I don't see Cordoba posing him a problem.

I wasa really big on Chris John for a long time...I mean the man has boxing skills that are phenominal...His power issue of course is always a concern because he can not keep guys like JML or Gamboa off him if you cant hurt them you can only run and box for so long before you are going to have to trade somewhat...The guys in your face you can not help it but After he came and fought Juarez the first time...He boxed Juarez with ease in the rematch but hey it is Juarez one of the biggest disapointments to ever come out of the Olympic games... I really lost interest in him due to the fact he really is so content on staying in his own little world no matter what the opp's out there are waiting for him...I think he fought in the US 2 times and down under a few times....Shame though because John could really be something special

The more I think about it, Daxx, I'd still rather see JuanMa fight Caballero than Cordoba. I guess that's just me. They're both coming off losses. I just feel Caballero is more of a threat than Cordoba.

I agree with that but I think Caba might need to regroup after his loss to Litzau....If he fought JuanMa now and lost it would hurt his career greatly....This is a hard topic to debate really because all the top guys are going through transitions...Gamboa while probably the second best in the division over all in a dangerous sense has some much needed flaws defensively to fix..RM is getting past it and while he is still elite without question he just lost to JMA and he has been in too many wars in a short period of time he needs tp physically regroupe, De Leon already has fallen to him, John wont leave Indonesia if he can avoid it, Hasewaga was TKO's by Montiel just 2 fights ago, Leuvano and Concepcion have been beaten by him as well,...Maybe this can just be a stay busy fight until something big can be made.....If he can't make a fight with Gamboa or John after that maybe he needs move up?........Thouigh I don't see Litzau beating him even if he was given a ball bat Litzau will wage a war with him though it won't last long it would be entertaining while it lasted...
