I hate to see my North Philly neighbor, loss. And loss by KO. But he's headed that way. His balance is fading. If he don't make Pascal fear him and fear losing, early, he's going to lose by KO, IMO.
He is trying to make Pascal fearful of 5+ rounds... but it's so transparent.
pascal has basically flipped it around "if you think that, you will be in for a long 12 rounds"
I loved that face off! taking a big risk that they dont wind each other up to the point they come to blows lol
Hope we get to see a lot more face offs between fighters in the future.
I'm not reading too much in to it though, Hopkins has been in the limelight a lot longer than pascal so will find it easier to look as though he is winning the war of words. Pascal looked a little frustrated but that doesn't mean much.Cant wait for this fight now i think it'll either be similar to the first fight or Hopkins could come undone early and be stopped but we all know the chances of that are slim.
That was funny........ I find pascal a little hard to read, as sometimes when you think he is fumbling his words, I think its just a language barrier.
On a serious note, how on earth can Bernard Hopkins fight hard for 12 rounds at his age, shit. Is that even possible? Anyone?
Jean Pascal must be one of the most campest boxers around.
i thought this was hilarious, it was a hell of a face off, but i think hopkins is rowelling the youngin up, u can tell hopkins is trying not to hide his smirk, its a game to him, and i say hopkins by decision
I liked it. It is so far THE biggest fight in 2011. Like he said, Hopkins is trying to do something more than history. I thought he won the first fight and want to see him win again, but the age factor may come to play in ANY moment.
What we saw in the first fight was the best of Hopkins and an over confident Pascal that hadunderestimated Hopkins. He still managed to drop Hopkins becausehelets his hands go and is quick. He will be fitter this time and will stop Hopkins.
Its asking a lot for Hopkins to perform like he did in the first fight, AGAIN. Its bullshit and he shouldn't have to because HE WON THE FIRST FIGHT !
That said I'm goin with Hopkins, but its going to be an uphill battle. Especially if Pascal gets it through his thick skull that all he has to do is push the pace.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"
All i've got to say is, I can't stand listening to Hopkins, and I hope Pascal retires the muther-fucker in the rematch.
I kind of feel bad for Pascal having to try and argue his point in a secondary language to him. He normally speaks French. He sounds like a decent enough guy, but I think he lost the fight, and he knows it deep down.
That was really funny. Hopkins says some silly things sometimes, but I respect the guy a lot. Both of them are right. You do have to respect the decision, but as Hopkins says the win is everything.
There is a bit in that face off where Hopkins looks to the camera after Pascal says hes going to retire him and he says "look kids this is why taking drugs is bad" Then Pascal reacts by himself looking to the camera and saying "yes kids, listen to him, he has experience in this". Obviously meaning taking drugs, whether recreational or to cheat in boxing but I think the latter. The look on Hopkins face is priceless, he looks absolutely stunned and doesnt mention the drug thing again, just in case Pascal brought up testing again
