Default What do you do for a living?

I figured I'd put this in the 1,000+ forum in case anyone felt uncomfortable divulging this information on the 100+ board.

Right now I'm working for an environmental not-for-profit doing fundraising and management, but I am about to return to school to get a social work degree (a stupid decision even amongst a lifetime of stupid decisions, I know). At the moment, I'm particularly interested in gerontology and the intersection of social work and public health. I worked with the elderly for years before I had this job and I learned a ton about the problems they faced and I want to help address those issues at both the macro and micro level. I'd like to eventually end up with a MSW/MPH dual degree (Master's of Social Work and Master's of Public Health) or something similar.

    How about you?

Financial adviser, currently sorting mortgages and insurances.

Boring, stressful, but pays really well. Self employed too and love the freedom and tax breaks that gives.

I'd assume you'd have some kind of finance/accounting degree?

I'd love to be self-employed... Maybe one day, but I kind of doubt it with the road I'm taking.

    Sounds interesting.

Didn't you used to want to be a lawyer? I seem to remember reading that a few years back.

Yeah, I tried that...I had also wanted to be a therapist before that but as with law was just too much school for me at a time where I was "all schooled out".

I teach at a university which is nothing terribly exciting, but it gives me plenty of free time to be quite weird and do things like go to jungles.

    Nope.

Dropped out of college/ sixth form in the first year. Just couldn't take any more learning.

Landed on my feet a few times and had a firm offer to pay for my exams. Passed those and the rest is history.

Just Google "CeMAP" or go to the IFS learning website. Cost about £150 per exam. Get a placement in a bank or similar and then you are almost guaranteed to clear £30k a year even if you are shit.

Follow women at night, creep up behind them with a rag full of methane cover their face til they pass out, drag them to my car then bring them home, kill them then have sex with them, chop them up and store them in a freezer.

Chloroform is much more effective than methane. You're pretty, but you're not all that bright.

I prefer the scent of Methane over Chloroform on a lifeless body...
It's just a matter of what turns me on.
