    Default Brandon Rios

With the talk of khan and Bradley moving up to 147 the 140 weight class will be wide open again IMO.
If we look at 135 for Rios what has he got?

Mitchell? I think Rios would bulldoze him, I don't see how Mitchell would hang with Rios. Would be good whilst it lasted but i don't think
Mitchell could keep up with the pace.

Guerrero? Doesn't look like he staying at 135 either, maidana at 140 is where he's going. Him and rios were the strongest two but now hes moving.

Excitement wise I think katsidis and Linares against rios would be good for fight fans, but do you see these fights happening soon? I don't think so.

I want to see rios move up to face maidana or mathysse. Imagine these fights and the wars that would unfold. Fights that need to happen for 2012 IMO.

I also think rios as a 140 power puncher for khan would be a test,
Doubt khan would want to get involved. Rios does need to build his name further than diehard boxing fans. He needs to expand his name more to the ordinary boxing fans and keep winning in exciting style. I hope he continues to win in great knockout fashion and move up to 140 and start building his name!

I agree. All the competition at or around that weight is moving up to 140 or 147. Also, Soto too. I think a Jorge Linares v. Brandon Rios fight could be good at 135. There's been rumors that it could happen. Guerrero v. Rios at 140 would be a war though. But, we get Guerrero v. Maidana this month, which should be fun.

On another thread, I'd ask where Matthysee is going to go after his fight against Morales? I'm thinking a rematch with Judah or Rois. Matthysee vs Rios would be a great fight.
All in all, you right, who else is there at 135? Unless Soto and JMM come back down. And JMM will not come back down after his fight against Pacman. Its a win or retire fight for him. And speaking about Pacman, Rios promoter said Rios will be ready for Pacman after a few more fights(I'm not sure about that), but to do that, again you right, he have to make himself an household name amongest average fight fan and not US diehards on the forum!!!

Rios versus the winner or loser of Guerrero/Maidana is where it's at. If JMM's somehow less shot than I believe he is, I suppose I wouldn't mind seeing that fight at 135 either, but I doubt JMM goes there.

I didn't even realize Maidana and Guerrero had actually signed to fight, that's awesome. Either of those two against Rios would be a real war and pick em fights, and there's no reason Rios couldn't just take the fight at 140. He weighs in way above that on fight nights anyways it seems.

I think he's going to go one more time at 135 against a low risk sort then move up as well. He looks softish abit and huge as it is.

I think Guerrero beats Maidana and Rios; Rios beats Maidana. But I think Guerrero/Rios is more of a pick'em.

But I cold easily change my mind after seeing the Guerrero/Maidana fight (obviously).

All good match ups, looks like the 140 weight class is going to have some class fighters in it, regardless of Khan and Bradley moving up. Wonder who's gona get them belts by 2012.

Hope mathysse beats morales, would be good for the future of the weight class. However would be good to see Morales have one last championship belt.
