Default Dropped out of school today

    I did.

I went back to school to get a second bachelor's degree, but a month in I knew it wasn't the right thing at this time. I've been ridiculously stressed-out about it for a couple of months and am now questioning my decision. I love my brain .

I'll likely be applying to a couple of graduate programs in social work while doing some volunteering and looking for work in the interim.

I don't know why I posted this here, I just wanted to get it off my chest.

Don't worry bout it dude, if you give it a try and it ain't for you then no problem. If you decided not to give it a shot and regretted it down the line then that could have proper stuck with you.

I always prefer to regret the fuck ups I have done rather than the ones I haven't. Which gives me enough to regret without starting on the stuff I ain't done.

    Definitely.

I do want to go back to school, but doing another bachelor's degree would have killed me. It just felt like I was doing the same thing I did 5 years ago, and what's the point in that? I have a friend who is pushing me towards law school, but I think I'm going to try to pursue a Masters program.

Sounds like you made the right decision mate. Nothing to say you can't go back in a few years when the time is right for you.

Its tough finding what the heart desires and still interests the mind.

Im hating my job now after nearly 40 years but I feel stuck in it for the time to cash ratio and if I let it go, its gone.

This type of stuff eats at your health if you allow it to linger into deeper feelings.

I admire your willingness to move on.

    I can explain it.
But I cant understand it for you.

I think a willingness to move on is something that is going to be negatively affecting our workforce in the next few decades. I've done 5 or 6 jobs since I graduated, the longest of which has been 3 1/2 years, and really it isn't enough to get a massive experience in any one job.

In some ways I wish I'd settled in one organisation and worked my way up to a better paying job, but right now I'm disliking my current job and looking for a way to move sideways or out. Being willing to take the leap isn't always a good thing.

What kind of jobs did you do? I'm try to work my way into some non profit fund development stuff. Im doing an unpaid internship as a grant writer with the Red Cross and I've been enjoying it so far. Looks like I might do something similar for a hospice soon too.
