    My 1st guess is Fireman Flynn... I know he has a high KO ratio against. However my memory deceives me right now as I'm not 100% sure he fought for a title in the later part of his career.

    It's gotta be some obscure guy... possibly 20's or 30's.

    My guy beat a top Light Heavyweight Champion, he also beat several fighters who fought for the Heavyweight Title.

    My guy also beat a fighter twice in a row, But it was the fighter he beat that got the 1st shot at the Heavyweight Title right after their fights.

    My guy was KO'ed in his last Pro fight, and that was a title shot for the Heavyweight Title.

    My guy also fought another future Heavyweight Champion that was from New Jersey.

    Louis beat Jersey Joe Walcott twice in a row. After the second loss, Walcott went on to fight for the vacant National Boxing Association World heavyweight title against Ezzard Charles.

    My guy was KO'ed in his last Pro fight, and that was a title shot for the Heavyweight Title.
    He was KO'ed in his last fight by Rocky Marciano although I don't think that was for a title shot.

    My guy also fought another future Heavyweight Champion that was from New Jersey.
    He fought Jersey Joe Walcott, who became a heavyweight champion and was from New Jersey.
    Are you sure it's not Joe Louis?
