To be honest froch made the fight watchable, if ward was against Johnson I'd not watch. Froch lost in style and made wards style less effective and both made each other look ordinary

I didnt think Id live to see another elite fighter who is more boring than Stinky Wright but I found one through this tourney..

It takes a whole lot for a hardcore boxing nut like me to change the channel halfway through the fight but I do it everytime Ward's on stage.. I can't stand him..

This isn't a knock on his fighting ability.. He's very good obviously but he's just not an exciting fighter at all..

I dont think hes too boring as a boxing fan, technically hes quite interesting to watch. In terms of knockouts and brutal power he might not be the most enjoyable but at what he does I think it was enjoyable in ways , obviously its not enjoyable seeing your favourite fighter get beat but to see him use his style to beat Froch from a boxing perspective was enjoyable to watch, he was very disaplined in his fighting style and thats why he won. I think Froch is a lot more exciting as a fighter as he comes to fight everytime and he gets people to get involved with him. That makes him good to watch IMO. Froch will no doubt be in more wars, which will be entertaining no doubt. Ward however will be putting on clinical boxing displays which in it's own right is very entertaining.

This is pretty much how I feel.

Ward isn't Eric Morales, but he's not that boring.

I find Ward interesting to watch. He's technically very good and I enjoy that.

I din't really sour grapes and bitching. Froch's style is entertaining mostly because he's so easy to hit.

Take away his leaky defence and you aren't left with much to see either.

    lol.. I hear you..

When somebody claims that guys like Floyd and Ward are boring, that somebody gets accused of not appreciating the sweet science etc etc but that's pure nonsense..

I know many purists/experts/trainers who are bored to death by Ward. My favorite types of fighters are the highly technical, boxer-punchers such as Marquez, Nonito,Linares, and Floyd but I dont get the same vibe from Ward..

Andre Ward's style was different when he was first coming up but he's found an angle that really works for him ... I give him credit because he's one of the few fighters who made drastic changes to his style but as far as entertainment goes, he's bunk...

The main reason why I find him boring is the fact that he's never in a sustained boxing match. He throws a punch or two and dives in for clinch which stalls the action every few seconds.. How the hell is that exciting??

Some dudes act like only the purists can enjoy Ward's style but we all know that's some straight up BS..

Only reason why he dives in for a clinch is because of the same problem guys like John Ruiz and Hatton had.. Their outside game is limited so they resort to clinch and punch tactics... People act like Ward has some godly style but it's not that mind boggling if you know what you are watching..

He throws a punch or two and shoots for a hug..

And some dudes make it seem like he has some exceptional inside game but it's really not...

A great inside fighter knows how to make subtle movements upclose, throw short counters, slip incoming punches etc etc, and punch themselves out from the inside without CLINCHING.... Think of James Toney.. Now that's how you fight up close..

Andre Ward is nowhere near that league and he's boring as shit.

I understand if someone didn't want to watch him but I don't mind him, he's good technically and I enjoy that.

Im not sure technical is the right word, theres a lot of holding and heading, maybe technically he is very good at the style he adopts

3 of the 4 least entertaining fights in the super six involved ward

I shouldnt really comment on the threads about ward coz my golden reputation of sound judgement may be tarnished

By the way finito i dont think floyd is boring

He avoids gettng hit with movement and lands combnations, it is the sweet science, perhaps not as the most entertaining style

He cant be compared to ward who avoids gettin his by diving in and holding and lands with one or two coming in

Floyd is definitely exciting. I was always much more thrilled watching him over limited fighters like pac.

Floyd is nothing like ward, yes Eric, but lot of people do find him boring.. Now I question those folks.

Boxing = hit without getting hit back

Now the boxers who have mastered the art are called boring and the ones with little real talent, except taking it on the chin are exciting fighters but their not good boxers.

Ward has mastered the art of what boxing is supposed to be, Froch has not, after all these years he's still just someone with good stamina and a punchers chance.

He can say Ward is boring but he also knows he can't beat him. I was bored watching him take left hooks all night and missing just about everything he threw, if he had the talent to compete with Ward he would never say he was boring.

Ward against the top fighters is worth a watch, not PPV material but a class act if he has the right dance partner.
