Default Some Clients/ Customers are just mental

Just had a formal complaint raised against me by a client because I emailed her husband instead of her to ask if everything was ok with some business we all did together last year.

Trying to get me done for data protection breaches and all sorts!

    What a bitch!

Most of my clients are quite normal, but every now and then you get some real weirdos!

    Anyone else get them?

She may have wanted to keep it on the side, you may cause a divorce.

I have the feeling I've managed to get myself tangled in a domestic.

And yeah missy your right, she has me by the nads on a technicality.

I'm hoping the compliance hitlers that work at my network are in a good mood and see the sense in it. I used (what turns out to be) his email address in all contact with them both last year. I sent a fairly generic email to that address in which he answered my question on behalf of his wife and him.

Me and him then carried on discussing his side of things, then out of the blue, BANG, complaint comes in.

Data protection, code of conduct, handling of sensitive data. The list goes on, the bitch is really trying to go to town. I'm guessing hoping for compo.

What's also shit, is that if it's decided I'm at fault, my insurance for complaint settling has almost a £1000 excess, so I'd have to pay it from my own pocket.

I'm tempted to post up the emails I sent to them and the complaint. It's almost comical.

That is harsh, you have to pay out of your own pocket is ridiculous. Why don't the bankers that lost millions pay out of their own pocket. You are getting screwed, fight it.

You remind me of a mate ,he's a patent attorney for a large gambling pokie machine company. The pressure he is under to make correct decisions on their behalf and the tens of Millions in funds at stake and his position in that side of the business worlds structure that is at stake is something close to unexplainable (even if allowed to).

is it's the same email addy for both of them & she read something meant for him then you're cleared..as long as you kept the emails friendly & professional.

What in particular is she bitching about?

It is his email address, she has a seperate one.

In a nutshell, I got a letter from an insurance company to say she had cancelled a policy I had sold to her.

I called and left a message and also sent an email simply saying: got a letter, was it in error or did you actually cancel it? (sent to his email)

He replies she cancelled it because they offered her a better deal direct (that's a different bastard of a story)

I tell him she should have come to me and I would have tried to shave a bit off for her.

He asks if I can do that for his as his wife is putting him under pressure to get the payments down a little.

I tell him I'll do all I can.

I do find a policy which is cheaper for him and is all round better cover.

    She complains.

Nothing in it. I'm guessing they are the sort of couple who keep everything seperate, especially money and she didn't want him to know she had cancelled her life insurance. Afterall, why would she give a shit? It's not as if she gets any money if she dies. She'd be dead.

He was probably pissed off that she was being selfish, they had a row, in a rage she blames me for dropping her in it and complains.

What a horrid woman. Definitely mental.

I sometimes wonder if I am mental, but then I hear stories like this and realise that I am quite sane.

Sometimes when I hear your rantings, I beg to differ.

Was the policy canceled hers alone and why e mail him and not her directly? She Probally has her thong in a knot over feeling slighted or discussing it behind her and between the two. Who knows, some people just need shit to stir..it gets them up in the morning

I see a few every week. I have alerts on the pets file titled H. M for high maintenance. Have no doubt, the cats and dogs are much more well grounded than the guy dressing his cat in a sweater and going hysterical because "he just seems sad"...jeezus hell

Personally I believe James needs to be sacked for his incompetence and HR should have a field day on his disciplinary. Breaching data protection is a serious crime.
