    Default Fossil Hunting

    Me and my son went fossil hunting at whitby bay, saltwick bay and robin hood bay in north yorkshire last weekend

    it was ace, and we found some fantastic shit

    heres some pics

    Not bad, but I was hoping for dinosaurs from the the time of Jesus Christ and several years earlier.

    the curly thing in the first pic is an ammonite and lived probably about 165 million years and died out with the dinosaurs

    the thing that looks like crab legs is a squid like creature that lived around 65 million years ago

    i am now a member of the fossil forum and my dream is no longer to lift a world title it is to become a paleontologyst

    i probly need to learn to spell it first mind

    All purchased though.

    Thats pretty cool. The first three look very similar, like the ammonite was embedded in the second.

    Yeah the first 3 are ammonites, 165 million yearss old apparently


    The last is a squd like creature thats a bit more rare butnot as old, bout 80 million years

    Both died out with the dinosaurs
