    Default Olympic boxing team

Well here's the next round of US boxers (I don't know much about any of them) Freddie Roach has been helping them train. I don't expect any medals either.

108 lbs. - Louie Byrd or Santos Vazquez
    114 lbs. - Rau'Shee Warren
123 lbs. - Joseph Diaz Jr.
132 lbs. - Toka Kahn-Clary or Jose Ramirez or Kenneth Sims Jr.
141 lbs. - Jamel Herring or Luis Olivares
    152 lbs. - No entry
165 lbs. - Terrell Gausha or Jesse Hart
178 lbs. - Robert Brant or Marcus Browne
201 lbs. - Steve Geffard or Michael Hunter or Joseph Williams
201+ lbs. - Dominic Breazeale or Jonathon Hamm or Laron Mitchell or Brett Rather

Rau'Shee is going for gold for his third time, I expect another dissapointment for him, I'm wondering if he will ever turn pro.

I was really hoping the WSB was going to change the amateur game, I still have my fingers crossed...

This could be the first time (to my knowledge) that the US team is shut out from medaling Almost happened in 08 but Wilder won a fourth place Bronze. Hopefully one of them will surprise us.

The GB Olympic squad will not be named and completely finalised until after the final Olympic qualifier in Turkey from 14-22 of April but Rob McCracken has a great pool to choose from and I dont thinks it's unrealistic to expect a least a half dozen medals. i t will be great to see how prospects like Joshua deal with the pressure of fighting at home.

Rau'Shee Warren is one of our best chances for a medal out of that list probably.

Do you know anything about anyone else on there? That was the question.

I mean I could spend time right now looking up youtube videos and wikis, but really what's the point? I haven't heard anyone say anything about any potential here, aside from Rau'Shee.

The only name I recognize apart from Warren is Michael Hunter Jr. He's our two time National Super Heavyweight champion 07 & 09.

The Brits are going to dominate the boxing at the Olympics so it don't matter who the USA pick. Good luck though

The talent pool in the US is crap, too many kids trying to get into the NFL, NBA or MLB.

I was just checking the AIBA ratings and...damn I knew our amateur system was shit but I didn't know it was this bad.

46-49 KG No American in the top 47

    52 KG 1 American. Rau'shee Warren rated 12th out of 60

56 KG 1 American. Joseph Diaz rated 18th out of 49

60 KG No Americans in the top 61

64 KG No Americans in the top 52

69 KG 1 American. Errol Spence rated 24th out of 57

75 KG No Americans in the top 52

81 KG No Americans in the top 59

91 KG No Americans in the top 43

91+ KG No Americans in the top 47

The ratings are effective as of April 1, 2012
