Default Billy Joe Saunders coming along nicely

Saunders Makes First Title Defence at York Hall | Frank Warren Promotions

What's everyones thoughts on Billy Joe Saunders?

After some injury problems at the start of his career I feel he is coming along nicely, winning the commonwealth in 30 seconds won't have taught him anything but will have done wonders for his confidence. He's strong tough and appears to have a decent chin. Next up is Bradley Price who has obviously held the commonwealth title before losing it to Matthew Hall. He has probably seen better days but I think it's a good fight for Saunders at this stage.

Saunders hasn't really shown us a lot this far in his career so how far do people see him going?

I think Billy Joe is amongst the worst names on earth. He clearly sucks.

I'm not sold on Saunders he does nothing for me as a fighter, can't take to the guy, he may get up there in domestic level can't see him at World level I don't think he's got the tools.

What don't you like about him as a fighter (apart from his name?)

Personally I'm a big fan. He's young, he's talented, he hits pretty solidly, decent speed, puts combo's together well...may be defensively flawed but we'll find out against Pryce.

Never seen him Billy Joe though, for christs sake your kid better turn out to be tough if you give him a name like that. No English speaking mans name should ever contain two words, it's completely unforgivable really. I imagine this will ultimately be his shortcoming above the domestic level.

So far I'd say he does nothing exceptionally well to make him look like a future world champ, but he has time on his side and if he is brought along right I think he will have a good career.

Not sure how far I think he'll go as we haven't seen him in tough fights. Hopefully he'll stay busy I enjoy watching fighters progress from novice to champions.

It's worse when you put just his initials, BJS...

I don't find him to be exciting I find him boring I watch him fight, but I could never see myself paying
    to watch him fight.

Really mate? now his hand problems seem to be behind him, I think he looks like a different fighter. I can think of many ways to describe him but boring is not one of them. OK Hill did not put up much resistance but Saunders shot picking and accuracy was pretty flawless and great hand speed.

He was one of Warren's three Olympians. They all fought for the first time professionally on the same bill and after watching them I ranked them in order of how I thought they'd do professionally on the massive evidence of one fight; I went Saunders, De Gale, Gavin. I think he's good enough to make world level, at least Nathan Cleverley vacant WBO title level anyway.

    I did exactly the same.

Then over the last 18 months or so shifted to De Gale, Saunders, Sort your shit out Frankie.

Have to agree on Khan, he is one fighter that no matter what he achieves I'll never consider myself a fan.

People may disagree but....KO in 1 round in front millions-no rematch??!
after KO feasted on much smaller men
easiest route took to title after avoiding Prescott rematch (easy route I could understand if rematch had taken place.
Whines like a spoilt brat after Peterson loss (ok he basically lost the fight on a technicality, he had points deducted, the win would have been his otherwise but rules is rules)
Wants titles handed back to him after Peterson tested positive. hmmmm well yeah maybe but come on just fight for them if you're that good. you have spent long enough complaining just get on with your career.

I will stick up for Khan if I felt he was being hard done by but fuck me he wants everything handed to him. He is probably pissed off that he is not in the IBHOF!
