Who do you have winning?
Up until Saturday it was a clear cut victory for Martinez, more than likely by KO but after that performance its a lot tougher fight to call. Martinez obviously is more accurate, quicker, has better movement, and packs a mighty good punch but Chavez Jr. showed he can take big shots and keep on moving forward. As others have said he is the best body puncher in the division and keeps getting stronger as the fight goes on.
Great match up, hopefully it happens
The key is Self-discipline.
It probably ain't even happening cause I don't see martinez agreeing to fight in texas and I don't think jr can make 160 anywhere but texas if ya catch my drift. If it did happen and all was legal(junior submits to drug testin, doesn't bring his own uninspected gloves) id back martinez
This fight has to be outside of Texas. Atlantic city, Vegas, even California. If that happens then I have Martinez winning by decision 8-4 or 7-5. I don't see anyway Sergio wins a decision in Texas and I'm not quite sure if he will KO Jr, he does walk through punches very well. I really do hope this fight happens, I'm looking forward to it
Sergio has finally got his chance, I hope he gets a fair crack in this fight with judges, weight, gloves and drug testing. This fight should happen in Vegas and Sergio wins.
I love Juniors dad and I have to say Junior has impressed me in his last couple of fights and certainly improved. However Martinez is a quality fighter and his victories over Barker and Macklin were not appreciated the way they should have been as people were looking at Sergio’s weaknesses as opposed to two strong hungry challengers who would give JCC Junior a lot more problems.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Lol
Lee was stiff as a board, stood straight up and moved straight back with little if any movement at all and he was winning rounds and the fight according to the score cards.
If Chavez is forced by the new rule to weigh in the day of the fight then they better have a Mash unit ready in his corner because he's going to get starched.
If Chavez is able to dog the rule which is highly likely and weigh in before the day of the fight showing up at 185 then he's going to suffer a sustained beat down for 36 minutes. The speed and the angles coming from the opposite side will daze and confuse Chavez until the final bell.
Martinez has had a great run. But I believe his opposition was timed perfectly. Not by choose. The cards just fell his way. I believe Martinez is another Bute. Martinez is going to make me a lot of money when he sign for this fight.
Jcc Jr by KO.
Well they are both left handed and are both boxer punchers.
People that want to dawg Bute because he got blasted out can go ahead. He fought Froch like a moron. First time in such an atmosphere and probably lost the fight during the ring walk. Stood at the front door and attempted to out slug the slugger and resembled a deer in the headlights during the ordeal. He will be back in the rematch. Sometimes a loss is the best thing that can happen to a fighter.
I doubt Martinez truly cares about venu, but he would be stupid not to use it as a bargaining tool. From his attitude Martinez looking for the biggest payday he can get.
Rumor has it that Junior fired Ariza. Let's see if he gets down to 160 safely in this fight.
I don't see the Martinez-Bute comparison at all by the way, unless you mean just that they are athletic, slick boxers. Not that either should feel slighted, Bute was a long-reigning champion at super middleweight and racked up wins over Bika, Andrade, and Johnson. Martinez has had a good run too.
Frankly, if Martinez beats Junior it just raises his profile among casual fans. Hard-core fans won't give him any more credit because people still have doubts about Junior. The upside for Junior is huge, if he beats Martinez, he becomes the MAN at 160.
Martinez has already gone on the record saying he wont fight Chavez Jr in Texas, and no one can blame him for it, hell let the fight happen in Atlantic City or the Garden
