    Default Rain

Where were you when the rain came down yesterday. It was mad, never seen the rain come down that hard. I love watching it and it was fun seeing people running through it as I watched in my ivory tower at work.

Kids school got closed and heard one person died.

Good luck with that, its the worse combo, fire and wind, it isnt good. This year we had a break from it cause the ground stayed moist for the most part of summer, we had no link up of hot days just the odd one or two then rain in between, but we are next to the coast so that reversal El Nino pattern is effecting us.

We had it coming down sideways a couple of weeks ago. After an hour or two you start planning next 24hrs around street flooding and road closures.

And btw...people who drive with hazzard lights on during rain should be slapped.

I was at the post office... came out and drove home through roundabouts and roads that looks like lakes.

just got back in time as roads where closed and my normally quite street looked like a car park

one of my sons just missed it but my second one was caught in it walking home from school... he was soaked through but he still had his jumper tied around his waist

I was trapped in my street for about 3 hours and people where just abandoning their cars so I got on my sons bike and took a few photos....

Rained heavy again today. On the bright side it cleans the car.

Was crossing the road with my 82 year old Grandad.

Fortunately was only a short walk to the Next pub, for a pint of guiness.

Got fked later on, 2hrs stuck on a train outside newcastle, because no room on the tracks to let us into the Station.

Then invited a stranded Chinese Girl back to my flat (studying in Edinburgh), no funny business bc of Gf.

Then dropped her back at station next day.

    Just a typical Thursday.

You're a sissy if you don't take off your shoes and enjoy a walk in the water.

I was stuck in Carlisle station for hours trying to get back to Newcastle. Ended up having to stay another night because some of the tracks had been destroyed and Newcastle station had been closed. I eventually got home late on Friday.

Except for it being really hot here in the Summers, the weather is nice here in East Texas. We do get an occasional hurricane, and tornadoes here, which are accompanied by huge amounts of driving torrential rain. You might have read about Galveston, Texas getting demolished by a Hurricane a few years ago, that's only about 150 miles from where I live.

That being said, I love the rain, the wind, lighting and flooding that usually comes with heavy rain is the destructive part, but if it isn't doing that, I work outside on my property and go for long walks in the rain. I spent Sunday (yesterday) in light rain, building part of a new fence around my property, I stayed cool and enjoyed being rained on. (Miles won't like this thread)

I reckon we'll get a hurricane this season. The weather is too hot not to get one. We had 100 degree weather over the weekend (I still played 2 matches of soccer) and usually August is our worst month for the heat. We've had some violent storms here because fo the heat, but I welcome them, they cool things down and of course there's nothing better than relaxing during a summer afternoon thunderstorm.
