    Default Carlos Baldimor

Is Carlos Baldimor the guy that was undisputed welterweight champion who suprising upset Judah, stopped Gatti and lost to Floyd fighting at super middleweight? How?

He ws never that good to begin with.

    right place right time...

he fought an undertrained, underprepared zab judah... this is around the time zab was robbed of over $250000 worth of gold by thugs while driving around manhattan alone in his yellow lamborghini. he's never been very bright and probably figured he didn't have to train to beat baldomir whose record was piss poor with 9 loses. rumour has it neither the ibf or the wba asked him to pay the sanctioning fees for the titles, so he wasn't awarded those titles after the win.

the fight with gatti was to be his second last... and gatti was already faded and fighting far outside his best weight class which was arguably 135.

    ^^.

That was probably Judah's worst ever effort, which is saying something. Beating that Gatti at welterweight was nothing any slew of journeyman couldn't have done as well.

He also fought Floyd at welterweight, not sure where SMW came from I thought Floyd deserved any flack he got for that showing as well, no need to hold back against a guy who was so limited.

Saw that the other night. Bit of a junker fight and power measuring (misleading I think) for favorite. He said something like Rubio cannot get passed the 'top' guys. Stones thrown in a glass house much Baldo.

One of the best cases of being in the right place at the right time.... maybe the best.

Caught Zab on the worst night of his career, beat the shell of Gatti and got a great payday against Mayweather.

After listening to you three rake Baldimor over the coals, I'm pulling for Carlos. Why is Gatti the greatest except when Baldimor fights him, then he's a bum!? Why do you say Judah could have beat Floyd if he kept it together, but when Baldimor whips Judah's ass you start talking about Judah being robbed!? If Baldimor was from the UK or the USA he'd be another Ricky Hatton but he's not so he's a bum.

i think you misunderstood my post. judah was actually robbed by guys with guns on the street in new york. he had over $250 000 worth of gold on him. baldomir beat him fair and square and i applaud his win. the reason i mention the judah robbery, is that it points to the fact that he was arrogant and stupid...he also demonstrated it by not training properly for the fight against baldomir.

as for gatti, he had the greatest heart and was the greatest french canadian to get the crap beat out of him over and over until everyone's yelling for the fight to be stopped and then ko's his oponent. he wasn't the greatest at much else.

as for ricky hatton... he's not so fantastic. i hear he's pretty good with burgers and blow.

A close second for worst Judah effort was his disputed win over Rafael Pineada.

They say that guy was really something in his prime.

Even at an advanced age he had Judah beat in a close fight but didn't get the nod.

Carlos story is definitely a Cinderella story coming from Argentina and earning practically nothing and about to quit boxing. For Carlos to be fighting at super middle and Rubio, who recently lost to JC Junior, is actually an amazing feat. I could not believe it was the same fighter. All credit to him. I cannot see him beating Rubio.

I understood you. Look, I don't want to argue about Carlos Baldomir! I'm just saying he was a breath of fresh air, and I really enjoyed watching him shake things up for a while. I respected him for coming to the US and bringing some excitement with him!
