    Default No Canelo- Lopez talk?

Do not see any talk of this figt. Are we all assuming Canelo wins easily? Don't want to count Lopez out, especially after the Ortiz fight. The kid can punch and Canelo does eat some punches. I think Canelo wins via late stoppage, but will have a few rounds that are wars. Your thoughts?

Yes, I am assuming Canelo wins easily. This fight is a total joke IMO.

Count him out and its more of the same albeit a stagnant weight. Cotto set up for next May.

I hope Lopez beats the shit out of Alvarez but I'll just wait for the upload and watch Martinez/Chavez Jr. live. MGM is a way better venue for the live gate. GBP get's more stupid as time goes by. Every time they get a big card they manage to through away buys.

Yup, you were correct, Lopez isn't in the same league with Alvarez, and actually his win over Ortiz was a bit of a fluke, although he showed a big heart in that fight.
Hmmm, Cotto vs. Canelo I wonder who @Diane will be pulling for.

I agree with you and I'm not forgetting Lopez put on an exciting performance with Ortiz. Ortiz is no sissy and bangs pretty good with plenty of pressure, but Lopez stood up to everything and kept coming. He won Canelo's respect, who then picked him for his next fight. It will be a war for as long as it lasts.

Canelo vs Lopez should actually be on the undercard if we're honest. Its a scraped together glorified catchweight showcase date for a pumped up "superstar in the making" Respects to gutsy Lopez but..bring a bat. I want the upset but Lopez doesn't jab. He trades. And Alvarez will walk in at 160 ish.

Gonzalez and Ponce deleon guarantees fireworks with a Jhonny tko ! Maidana and Soto Karass will meet ring center and insult each other with the mere thought of showing defense. Leo Santa cruz is a friggin whirlwind and breath of fresh air. Hope they show all four bouts.

If it was at 147 it'd be worth watching. The best entertainment will come from the undercard.

Lopez will give it a go and is on a high but think the weight will be too much and he will lose.

It's just not as interesting as Jr-Sergio, but i'll definitely be watching on Showtime, i'd love to see Lopez win, but it's doubtful.

At Las Vegas (Showtime): Saul "Canelo" Alvarez vs. Josesito Lopez, 12 rounds, for Alvarez's WBC junior middleweight title; Jhonny Gonzalez vs. Daniel Ponce De Leon, 12 rounds, for Gonzalez's WBC featherweight title; Marcos Maidana vs. Jesus Soto Karass, 12 rounds, welterweights; Leo Santa Cruz vs. Eric Morel, 12 rounds, for Santa Cruz's IBF bantamweight title.

Not a bad card, lots of title fights.

The Canelo / Lopez undercard is pretty stacked and better than the Martinez / JCC Jr which does have Macklin, but the main events are miles apart. I like Alvarez and think he will turn out to be the fighter Chavez thinks he is, but tonight the Madiana / Soto Karass fight has the potential to eclipse the cinnamon kids dusting of Lopez. Josesito will go out fighting though.

Lopez is a loooooooooong shot, but I hope he wins.

The Chavez vs. Martinez fight looks to be more competitive and far higher stakes. Definitely a lot more exciting.
