Default Roy jones legacy..or is he having fun?

After hearing that roy is fighting kimbo slice in jamaica this year in an exhibition match didnt really seem to surprise me.

We all know what roy jones was like in his heyday but i just believe that after the glen johnson loss, roy is just generally having fun and is enjoying doing what he loves.

He has nothing to prove. He could have retired after the tarver 3 or other losses but i just think he likes to do this and he has a huge ego!

If he gets KO by kimbo in the early rds we should not be surprised..roy is a veteran who knows what risks his taking and knows what damage can occur in this later part of his life.

Lets just be happy for him and the fact he likes to box and hopefully we can see a few seconds of the old roy before whatever happens..

If he keeps going he'll have fun knitting scarves in an institution somewhere. That said I expect him to either stop Kimbo or just have the whole thing be an arranged kind of sparring, but it's a complete freakshow and quite sad.

I expect this as well, that is IF this fight is even going to happen.

    Hope it doesn't.

Roy thinks he can regain former glory, I believe its more than him just wanting to have fun, otherwise he would not have faced Joe Calzaghe, Bernard Hopkins, and top cruiser Dennis Lebedev since his fall from grace.

You can't have an ego and then piss your legacy away for fun. It's a contradiction. One (ego) is based off the other (legacy). It's like calling yourself the most honest compulsive liar on earth. If it only counts when he wants it to, hows anyone else supposed to know when to take him seriously.
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.

Your Roy Jones jr, a once legit p4p champion and phenom who is sharing the professional boxing ring with a guy who is a pure gimmick made off of backyard brawls on youtube and a complete bust in mma...a 52 yr old Larry Holmes facing Butterbean "fight" had more legitimacy than this. Roy...if you wanna have fun, fly a kite at in the park or saw the legs off of Jim Lampleys chair one night on HBO, but this is donating whats left of legacy to a circus proposal.

As much as I like Roy he's operating on an ego that is beyond measure and when that gets added to a stiff cocktail of delusion its probably not going to end well.

I can't remember who asked Roy why he continues to fight, but his answer was simple "No one is going to tell me when to quit, I'll fight until I decide to quit. I'm hardheaded."
