Aw..god no, well hold on. Solis was tested positive and the very next day he went to an interdependent and credible agency and there he tested negative however the No Decision was never overturned. So this could be something like that. Or he could been taking tainted protein shakes and what not.

    Bloody hell...

So, they're waiting for results from Sample B, and they still have to deal with Angel Garcia even if they get a negative result.
I'm pissed at Morales, he should know better and he's messing with my weekend plans, maybe.
Just read that the fight will go on as planned. Supposedly the fight will take place because the results from Sample B won't be available until after the fight takes place You can spin control that any way you want, but to me it sounds like money, ass kissing, pleading, future compensation and more money was involved. I suspect Angel Garcia had a really good time.

I'll wait for the results because I'm quite sure the title will not be on the line if it goes ahead and any gas Morales had going into the fight is now spent unless of course that this is explainable. He will probably lose a good portion of that 300 grand.

I read this while at work today, hope it isn't true but who knows seems like lately every few weeks a boxer tests postive for this or that.

Seriously, when are you guys going to stop being surprised at this? lol Just assume everyone is on to begin with, it's easier that way

Sad but true, here's the way I look at it. I don't want easier, I want everyone to play by the same rules. I'm no expert, but it seems most of the abuse centers around weight control drugs.
The "same day weigh-in" is looking better to me everytime one of these "fails" happen.
What I don't want to see, is more weight divisions added.
I know I'm raving but it pisses me off that there is no real combined commitment by sanctioning organizations, promoters, boxing commissions, managers, trainers, Las Vegas--you'd think Vegas would be all over cheaters, they sure don't allow it when it comes to gambling--HBO, SHOWTIME, and the fans.
As soon as a "failed test" is announced spin control goes into
high gear--the greed exhibited can be sickening--and money starts changing hands.
Boxing is a business, and business is about making money, but any sane person would think there are enough principled individuals at the top of these organizations to put a stop to cheaters by saying no.
The fans--myself included--are just as bad, we'll watch this fight knowing one of the fighters was caught cheating.
My little rant has made me feel better but I'm still pissed, and I know all y' all were interested.
    Is anyone else pissed?

I agree that with same day weight ins a lot of boxers would move to their supposed natural weight class instead of fighting at the one under. With that being the case, the amount of banned substance use should decrease but there's always a flip side to everything and..I'm just bummed I cannot believe this of Morales IF he did it. God damn it. God fucking damn it. Say it aint so joe say it aint so

Any word from Garcia or camp. Seems he'd be in full right to tell Morales to piss up a rope. He's the one getting the shaft in a rematch Morales was frankly fortunate to get at this stage in the first place. If only in life we all got an immediate "do over" after blowing off the rules and taking short cuts.

True enough. These things are not even surprising in fact they are almost expected. Cheating using the chemistry lab has probably been around in boxing in one form or another going back to its grappling days in ancient Greece. Cant see the belt being on line.

    WBC Statement on Morales

"The only authorities on this title fight between the WBC super light champion Danny Garcia and his challenger Erik Morales are the New York State Athletic Commission and the WBC, and the only antidoping rule valid officially for the WBC will be the tests taken either in the dressing room before the fight or after the fight."

Wow, hypocrisy at its finest. So if Morales test clean before and after the fight, they will disregard the random drug test that he failed. Way to go

Athletes are pumping themselves full of all sorts now in their quest to get to the top and remain there. Even apparent legal products bought over the counter can contain illegal ingredients.

Whats wrong with a healthy diet, plenty of water and the odd bottle of Lucozade

This even gets better...... Garcia, Morales Make Weight: Barclays Weigh-In Report

Allowed to bring his own scale

I'm starting to see other reports that he is blaming it on Mexican meat which believe it or not has a chance to be given all the roids and shit pumped into cattle.
