The issues NYC/New Jersey etc are having are due to the population density, the fact that NYC is surrounded by water (the river exacerbates things), and the various tunnels & subways. This was pretty bad and yeah what made it so bad was the population density, I feel for these people. 7,000,000 without power. 33 + dead, make no mistake, in terms of storm damage, this was one the worst ever.
Where as I feel for the families who have lost some one, 33 deaths is not really that bad when compared to other hurricanes of the past.
