The straight right works really well, as does the left hook, what about the overhand right hook?

I love using the overhand right hook (which is basically a right hook with a slip making it come down at an angle) against other orthodox fighters but will it work as well against southpaws?

Depends on if he has already thrown and expended his left, I dont think anyone would go there with that still loaded if you were in a normal stance still.

I could be tempted landing it after I'd slipped his left as his left returns or go low then high hook forcing him to react; his shoulder lowers to give you the opening. But he'd want to be brought in closer and more square first. If you were on his inside between his arms and he was square and you removed your right leg slightly for room while landing low left to his guts you would have the space and correct coil to nail him if he dropped his elbow down and hunched thinking you were bodily still in there with him too.

Theres a fair few you could think up as to when you'd get away with it.

A shorter guy you are both nose to nose you drop your right hand and invite his left hook only to pull your left leg back slightly flow with his hook but your right hook is following his left and you nail him with a full twisting right hook.
