Default Ring Magazine New top 10 P4P

I just saw the updated list and one name on it sticks out like a sore thumb.

    Adrian Broner at #5

now if that was Robert Guerrero I still would have raised an eyebrow but at least he fought somebody. What in gods name is Broner doing ahead of Donaire, Wlad/Vitali, hell even Tim Bradley?

What the freaking hell is going on?

IMO Broner is a better fighter than Donaire and those guys, but I agree with you that his accomplishments thus far don't warrent him being above them.

I could have said way back in the day RJJ was gonna be top P4P but it is a list essentially based upon your accomplishments not what you can theoretically achieve. I love the reasoning too, he beat 14 bums by KO and because of that and beating a slow 'champ' with glaring defensive liabilities warrants his placement.

Say what you want about Donaire but god damn he's beaten legit tough opposition. Say what you want about Wlad and Vitali but when was the last time in YEARS that they even lost a round? Say what you want about Bradley (he lost to Pacquaio by the way) but at least he had far better opposition than Broner. Sigh this just riles me up is all.

I think Gennady Golovkin might be the goods too, but he isn't in the top ten.

    Who owns Ring Magazine?
    Who promotes Broner?

    There's your answer.

Also, who doesn't promote Donaire, Klitchkos and Bradley, etc...

I have no doubt that Broner will be in the running for P4P honors one day but not now.

Their Belt and P4P list mean a lot less now that they are ownedby a promtional company.

I did a quick P4P list yesterday but I wasn't satisfied with it. So here's my updated version.

    PBF
    Ward
    JMM
    Sergio
    Nonito
    Pac
    Bradley
    Mares
    Wladdy
    Froch

Froch? Don't get me wrong I love the man because he fights anyone anywhere and more often than not he wins. I'd put him in number 10 if he wins againt Kessler for sure.

As for me I agree with the rest, though I would put Wlad over Mares (damn lowblowing bastard....) and put replace Froch with Vitali

When did Oscar and company elect Al Haymon to the rankings board. Man. That's really just terrible. These dumb asses REALLY do think he is Floyd

p4p is really just a hollow marketing tool now. I haven't bought a copy of Ring in at least four years.

I have another problem with the list besides Broner that no one mentioned.

...Why is Pacquiao still on the list? Don't get me wrong, I still think hes one of the top 5 best guys in the sport in terms of his in-ring ability, but like everyone has been saying it's about accomplishment.

Pac is coming off of two official losses, the latest obviously being a vicious KO loss. I don't care how good you are, the top 10 p4p list should be reserved for guys who are currently at the top. If you're coming off of back to back losses, you shouldn't even qualify for top 10.

Why is he ranked over the Klitschko bros, who have ruled their division without a loss for 8 years or more? Or an undefeated guy who beat him just two fights ago (regardless of whether the decision was right or wrong, Bradley got the nod).

    I see BoxRec has Pac at 15 P4P.. a slight over-correction

The funny thing is that he was not even ranked in his weight division for the Ring and now he is #5 p4p. Wow
