    The shoulder whirl he refers to begins on the feet and works up through the hips; the hips whirl the shoulders. He is talking about the same thing.
    When you throw your straight left hand, your hips and shoulders will turn. What Dempsey is talking about is an aggressive way of getting your weight moving forward...Start by mastering the mechanics of throwing a straight left hand, then use those drills to coordinate your hands and feet. About that time you'll figure what he is talking about.
    Manny Paciauo, however it is spelled, uses that step very frequently to throw his straight left hand, and Bernard Hopkins used to use it to steal that lead right hand he threw.
    Sorry to bump, but I would like to know what footwork drills you mean.
