Default Lucas Mattheysse vs. Mike Dallas Jr. Jan 26th 2013, Hank Lundy Out

Matthysse vs. Dallas is On, Lundy Confirms He is Out - Boxing News

Lundy has a managerial dispute so that fight is off. Mike Dallas Jr. (19-2-1 8KO's) has been installed as a replacement. Dallas was stopped by Josesito Lopez in 7, so I'm not expecting this to be even close.

If Dallas can remain coherent and follow the game plan he could put on a clinic. Props to him for having the cajones to try to get his name back in play against a guy like Lucas.

In what way can he put on a clinic

He's an ESPN co-main event guy vs. an elite 140 lber in the world.

Props to Dallas for taking the fight, but I expected the more talented Lundy to be broken down.

Upsets do happen, but I think its insulting to suggest Dallas can put on a "clinic" against Matthysse, who for my money is 2nd only to Danny Garcia and perhaps Tim Bradley at 140.

Dallas can't handle pressure. Mathysse will ruin him close to the 4th.

Have to disagree this time. Dallas is what no boxer wants to be, the next victim.
Hope he makes a good payday, and gets some kind of compensation down the line, for taking the fight.
Dallas might put on a good performance but I don't see him winning.

Agreed. I'm not even sure id put him second to anyone at 140, imo he should be undefeated if not for two house decisions. Altho maybe those were good for him since he's started a lot faster in his fights since.

He has all the tools to box circles around Lucas and prior to his loss he was being touted as one of the best prospects in boxing. Outstanding amateur career and plenty of natural gifts but like many a little short upstairs. Ofcourse losing one as he did as a top prospect turns him into scrub overnight but not in my eyes He has only been pro since 08 and only 17 fights but he does have the goods to beat him. A lot will depend on the size of the ring. Ok to use your words Hulk I'll take him in the upset.

Should be fun while it last and glad they didn't decide to scrap the whole fight. Dallas a suitable- serviceable sub though.

But with respects he ain't showing Mattheysse a thing. He gets out hustled and boxed by nerf ball Herrera and out punched by a Lopez. Nope. He has never ever felt a punch like he will feel early here and certainly hasn't seen this level. Mattheysse is a natural puncher, with jabs and all the above. Top caliburs Soto, Alexander and Judah all had different degrees of early success only to be broken up and on roller skates as it went. Dallas is going skating too.

Ahhh man, I'm a bit disappointed. Lundy would've been much better though he would've love. Dallas Jr has even less of a chance. He won't even be able to get Lucas' respect with his little power.
