wouldn't say he's the best prospect from Puerto Rico, that would be Jose Pedraza, I'd put Velez in the same group as the Arroyo twins who are in no way slouches in their own right

Don't know much about Velez, but I feel sorry for anyone who fights De Leon, he has to be one of the most awkward fighters alive.
Punches come from unexpected angles and at unexpected times, he throws one punch that looks close to being a hammer fist.
I hope Velez watches all the fights he can of De Leon. I like De Leon, he makes me laugh and laugh, I can imagine his opponents asking themselves WTF is going on.

A fight of this magnitude can't be held in March due to a lack of promotion time, claims Espinoza..

Jhonny Gonzalez will be exercising his rematch clause against Deleon so if the Velez fight doesnt get rescheduled, Deleon-Gonzalez II will take place first..

Expecting Mares to face Deleon as his first opponent at 126 is unrealistic anyways.. He needs to get his feet wet first before taking on Deleon even though Deleon isn't all that.
