    Default the pull back

As a southpaw im looking for new defense tactics to add. And the pull back aka lean back whatever you want to call it is catching my eyes.

To a lot of people its more of a fancy/risky manuever but In my experience if you know what youre doing you can have a lot of success with it.
As a southpaw I read the pull back is actually MORE effective because of the distance of the rear hand and ineffectiveness of the lead. 1st question is on that just want to see other views on that statement?

2nd question is just proceeding the pull back and would like any tips/advice for trying this. Pros-cons

    Thanks in advance

You need to be a real good judge of distance to make this work. It isn't a move you start trying to work right out of the gate either; you need to know for sure how long his arms are first.
You can do the same sort of thing on your feet as well. Cheat your front foot closer, leaving your front foot back, as this gives the impression that you are closer than you really are. Get him to punch, a jab or right hand, and slide back to your rear foot. This makes his punch fall short and you follow it home with your counter. Buddy McGirt used this a lot, and Greg Haugen did it to Pazienza almost constantly in their first two fights.

Paz would have been a good man to try stuff on,he sure took some risks opening with rear uppercuts and the likes!
