This timeshift documentary is on U.K TV tonight. BBC 4 at 10pm. Subtitled "The rise of martial arts in Britain" I thought it might be of interest to some posters in this part of the forum.

Did anybody watch it then ? It was great. Not on i-player or YouTube yet but here are a couple brief clips
BBC Four - Timeshift, Series 12, Everybody was Kung Fu Fighting: The Rise of Martial Arts in Britain, Self Defence against Ruffians
BBC Four - Timeshift, Series 12, Everybody was Kung Fu Fighting: The Rise of Martial Arts in Britain, A Short History of Karate
From Barton Wright to Bruce Lee the programme looked at the British relationship with Martial arts from Boxing ,Wrestling, Cane Fighting to Ju Jitsu,Judo,Karate and Kung Fu etc
It was a brilliantly made program that Managed to condense a domestic history of fighting and sport over the last hundred years into about an hour and should be awarded a black belt for doing so.
I watched it partly... by partly i mean i had it on, but couldn't devote 100% attention to it.
need to do it justice and watch it with no distractions. looked ok. wrt MA in UK, it looks to be good documentation
