Default Dallas - the death of JR Ewing

Now as you all know I’m a double fucking hard bastard but I was watching Dallas the other night for the JR funeral and the opening credits tribute to Larry Hagman had me choking back man tears.

    Anyone else see them ?

I guess for me as an 80s teenager JR for me was THE tv villain we all talked about - a proper legend and global phenomenon.

It’s also a reminder to me that I’m getting older and Hagman’s generation is passing on….

I used to like him in "i dream of genie"... as a kid watching this I always used to wish I was him as the things i would have gotten genie to do for me would prob be illegal in most states

JR would be arrested now for raping the women as he only ever had sex with them because he blackmailed them.

Hagman was a character that's for sure, the I dream of Genie show allegedly took place in Cocoa Beach, Florida, which was a bit of a joke to me and my family, because we lived not 30 miles from there when the show originally aired from September 1965 to May 1970. Both my parents (my father was retired from the U.S.A.F. ) worked at Cape Canaveral during that period, my mother spent 14 years and much of her time at the VAB, (vehicle assembly building) where the space shots took off. If you recall Hagman was alleged to be an astronaut.

I moved to Texas in November of 1976, just in time to start watching "Dallas" that aired from April 2, 1978 to May 3, 1991 on CBS.

I always felt like I knew Hagman, even though I never met him, Larry would be the first to tell you that he had a great life, and another great life after his liver transplant, and there was no reason to morn his death.

cheers, drink one for Larry, i'm sure he'd appreciate it.

I was trying to explain that to Booze. I was on your side. You sure have a lot of anger. You really need to get some sex.
