    Default Boxing's Hottest Prospects

Well there seems to be a lot of yesterdays boxers, who over the last decade and earlier that have entertained us in the ring and now have hung up their gloves... Hatton, Mosley, De la hoya, Barrera, Winky, Holyfield, Calzagahe, Margarito, Pavlik Etc..

There is also alot of the greatest boxers currently around who are soon set for retirement Klitskos, Mayweather, Pac, Marquez, Zab, Martinez, JT, Bhop and so on.

So who in your opinion will be around for the next decade? Im not talking about fighters that make it on to top 10 just for a couple of years ...but who are the futures pound for pound or top 10 rankers that will stick around and cement them selves in Boxing's hall of fame. Will Alvarez, Tyson Fury, GGG or perhaps Rigo Be up there ...Who should we be watching out for?

And while im at it ..who will not be around for long (overhyped or whatever reason)?

The line can be fine between prospect and contender. I still consider Russell Jr and Saludar promising prospects even though they are both above the top 10 in a couple of Orgs.

I'm gonna wager my house and say Angel "Mikey" Garcia is going to be one of the best fighters AT LEAST in his division if not in the P4P list.

Default Re: Boxing's Hottest Prospects For Top Dog

Looking at the options with my limited knowledge and ring mag ratings based on age of who might be around for 10 years ish

Heavyweight - Deontay, Fury, Helenius, Price, Pulev, Povetkin, Haye (who will dominate when Klitschko's Retire?)

Cruiser - (i know jack about Cruiser) Dmytro Kucher, Ola Afolabi, Rakhim Chakhkiev, Hernandez?

Light Heavy - Grachev, Bellew, Shumenov, Kovalev

Super middle - Stevenson, Groves, Rodriguez, Ward

Middle - Pirog, GGG, Geale, Macklin, N'Dam (who will be top dog after Martinez) Chris Eubank Jnr?

Jr. Middleweight - Alvarez, Trout, Lara, Andrade,

Welter - Kell Brook, Thurman, Bradley, Alexander, Ortiz, Guerrero

Jr welter - Danny Garcia (will he stay no1 for the next 10 years) , Khan, Matthysse, Peterson, Provodnikov, Allakhverdiev, alvarado, Rios

Lightweight - Adrien Broner (i dont see anyone beating Broner at this weight. Is Burns in with a chance?) .....(Omar Figueroa, The new Valero)

Jr lightweight - added Gary Russell, Jr (thnx IamInuit)

Featherweight - Mikey Garcia, Evgeny Gradovich, Nicholas Walters, Javier Fortuna, Billy Dib

Jr Featherweight - Rigondeaux, Donaire, Mares, Frampton, Mathebula, Quigg, Hasegawa etc etc (lots of young guys in this division)

Bantam - Leo Santa Cruz added

    Fly - Froilan Saludar added

    Straw - ?

Most of these already in top 10..who else could i add to the fighters i need to watch? Some of them might be laughable but still you never know what the future holds

I would say Burns is a contender, with Broner still favored to win.

Carl Frampton is still a prospect in my book and he's a European champion.

I said it on this board somewhere before and I will say it again, Frampton will be top 10 p4p.

Go watch 20 year old Julio Ceja. He'll be IBF Bantamweight champion next month. Carlos Cuadras is another you need to watch

Not trying to be a nit picker but the guys I bolded cant really be called prospects but contenders. Some in that group cannot be called contenders as several are present champions and a few recently x champions

Frankie Gomez has a shot at Welterweight.

Put Lee Selby on my list at Feather. One of the best British prospects I've seen in years.

Also for the Brits, I think Paul Butler has a real chance at 115lbs. He picks his punches well.

By the way, what the hell happened to Matvey Korobov. I remember when he debuted people nuthugged him and he was often televised on undercards. What the hell happened there?

    Garcia is a good choice.

Need to define what a prospect is? Majority of guys mentioned he have had well over 20 fights and in opinion can't be called a prospect. Current and former world champions are not prospects!

Nicolas Walters, Alex Theran, Roberto Ortiz, Javier Fortuna & Omar Figueroa have all caught my eye... Especially Walters.

Prospect of dominating the sport of boxing for the next 10 years, being top of the game, cream of the crop.
Boxers people will see fight at big ppv events for years to come, the big stage, the most talked about.

    That kind of prospect
