    Default figueroa

Hey, been some talk of this guy but felt he deserved his own thread. This kid is something else. I have only seen him fight twice but each time was amazing. He doesn't stop. Has a great chin, has great power but what's up with his defence? No doubt he can take a hit but it looks like he can possibly have a nice career ahead of him. Taking so many hits is usually not good for longevity. I wanted to see what those of you with boxing knowledge than me had to say about the subject

He's a balls to the wall kinda guy and will have a short career so i think his handlers should move him quick..

Id like to see him against Mercito Gesta or John Molina..

Alot of people seem to think Omar won't last long but not many people at 135 are going to take what he dishes out so fights like Arakawa won't be his norm, I want Demarco to be his next opponent so we can see if he's above him as I think.

plus I would think his style will mature as he does. I'm sure he is not going into this planning on having a short career.

Very solid but man he needs to find some tempo. Seeing that Broner elected to 'keep' his strap and Omar has already won two interims, chances are he'll do a third. Maybe a Arakawa rematch ? for the strap down the road because no way in Hell can I see Broner back at 135. Just hope he doesn't fall into the need to war for the network rather than keep it smart for his own best chances and long run.

Apparently he's struggling to make 135 already. He doesn't want to move up just yet as if he can win a belt at 135 he'll have more leverage when he does. That style won't help him when he does move up. But what a fan-friendly fighter, just wish there were a couple of dozen more like him.

That last fight with Arakawa (or whatever it is) had similarities to Gatti/Ward. This kid is a warrior who will eat 3 punches to give you 1. Not sure he'll ever win a major belt with that style though. But every fan will get their moneys worth.
