    That is a domestic cat.
    No, that is a Bobcat. Completely wild and nothing close to a domesticated cat. It is the size of medium sized dog and tremendous predator. You might familiar with the very similar species of Lynx. Think smaller version of a mountain lion. Hunting is an important part of conservation, particularly in predatory species b/c they lack their own natural predators. When left completely unchecked predatory species such as bobcats and coyotes will inevitably end up eating peoples pets. I fried up the backstraps but wasn't impressed. Doubtful I'll ever shoot another but I am fond of the rug.
