    Default Maloney Retires

Frank Maloney has announced his retirement from boxing after 30 years in the sport | Sky Sports

Sad but it will probably be better for his health and happiness. "No Baloney" Frank Maloney started off as an apprentice Jockey and then flyweight boxer, actually starting his pro career as a trainer with Bruno before teaming up with Warren and then going alone and promoting Witherspoon and then guiding Lewis to the top and working with other British boxers like Ingle and Haye. Great character, eventful life, very readable too. Will miss him.

Beanz he looked dreadful, and retirement would be a good idea his health has suffered so it's a
good time to go, pity but your health comes first.

David Price must have gone to Matchroom.

    I liked Maloney's book.

This is a shame. One thing Maloney did that many other promoters in Britain fail to do is showcase the lower weight talent. Hopefully somebody will come along and pick up the slack there.

My guess is Price will sign with Frank Warren & his son now.

Maloney was investing too much emotionally and the Price fiasco probably tipped him over the edge into retirement.

He lost his edge. The Price fiasco was more than a fiasco, he simply saw the field wrongly for Price.
