Carl Frampton Vs. Scott Quigg is a British super-bantamweight clash that has been spoken of for some time now and, as reported by Sky Sports, Quigg’s promoter Eddie Hearn has made Frampton a “huge offer” to agree to face the WBA 122-pound champ next March.
“We have made a huge offer to Frampton’s licensed manager and promoter Barry McGuigan for Carl to fight Scott in March on Sky Sports, and are looking forward to opening talks in the coming weeks,” the Matchroom boss told Sky today.
Both men are unbeaten and have upcoming business to attend to before they can look at taking on one another in what would be a sizzling showdown. European champ Frampton faces Frenchman Jeremy Parodi inside what looks like being a sold-out Odyssey Arena in Belfast on October 19th, while Quigg will make a defence of his WBA belt against a TBA on the big Carl Froch-George Groves card set for Manchester on November 23rd.
Providing both talents keep their perfect records (Quigg’s only blemishes are a TD with Rendall Munroe, later avenged via TKO win, and the somewhat controversial draw he picked up last Saturday against Yoandris Salinas) and assuming talks between the two camps go well, next March will hopefully produce a fight fans have now been waiting for for over a year.
