    I agree with this article.

I thought it was a requirement to make a mandatory defence once a year? He shouldn't be continually getting a bye. Either defend it or give it up. Can't believe the WBC granted him an extension. He's put Stiverne's career on hold for fucks sake.

WBC should have done the same thing they did to Ward, which was to give him the Emeritus Title.
He has till December 15th, then they should take that Title. I don't have anything against Vitali except he has not been in the ring for a while and doesn't seem to be making any plans to fight.
Like the article said, it's not fair to set on the belt like he has. Boxing is a business.

Theres so many loopholes in the WBC rulebook regarding mandatory defences and time extensions , google it and theres a PDF file with all the rules.

Some good points in this article and its getting on for 15 months and he's definitely being shown favouritism by the WBC !!

The Wbc is such a joke. The second oldest Org in boxing flying on the wings of Jose's dementia. Yeah its real noble giving the guy an extension for 2 weeks when his country is on the brink of revolution. The same Org that made him emeritus and allowed him to come back after being absent for close to 4 years for an immediate title fight with Peter.

Just so we are all Crystal.....
I rate Vitali v highly and admire him as a man and a fighter.
What he's doing in the Ukraine is seriously dangerous and brave and it really is one fucked up and corrupted place.
The guy was in the thick of a riot a few days ago and calmed it all down with just his voice and a megaphone ffs.

I got some mates from the Ukraine and its shocking what goes on there from some of the stories they told me.... really bad.

Vitali has been a brilliant Champion but I definitely think he's getting favours here and surely its effecting how the division should be panning out?

Wait, there is an actual W.e B.e C.ollecting RULE book I thought they just tied number tags to drunken monkeys and let them race to decide rankings?!

Really though its the definition of preferential treatment. Didn't he actually say something like in the spirit of the Holidays this wasn't the time for suck decisions? One rule, one standard. This isn't a Governing body it's a banana Republic and we wonder why we get crooked judges and refs.

I'm confused... I thought Vitali had officially retired?

I think he's too focused on his life after boxing to come back. Well he left on a high note. Accomplished a lot and heck he might sadly get murdered judging the way politics is run there.

Vital I should give up the title, when he feels like coming back into the ring he will get a title shot anyway in his first fight back. He probably only wanted to hold the title so that Haye would not get his hands on it.

Vitali should retire. His best days are behind him, he should get out now and do his politics thing. He's had an excellent run! Never been knocked down, probably should finish up that way too. Especially at 42 years and not fought in over a year. LEwis doing that after just over a year and at 37 against Vitali was considered a bit "washed up".

If he decides to continue it might be closer to 2 years by the time he enters the ring time to step aside
