I don't blame Gonzalez. Completely different fight plan would be needed. Add to that the money made from the Mexican population and it may be best to wait.

Lets be honest here. As a Russell fan it has been pretty evident that they have been waiting for the right belt holder to come along and Gonzalez is that one. Tailor made is not an exaggeration. Oh I suppose Jhonny could land the bomb but if ever there was a title fight for Russell to look like Robinson in its this one.

quick way to get the strap back under the GB banner without Mares, having to run back into the fire to retrieve it. If they get a monopoly on straps they have the ability to freeze out a division and write boxing how they want. It would be like the wwe.
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.

Impossible to say how good Russell is. Is he even a feather weight? I would say hed struggle to make 126. Definitely a few fighters at featherweight who would be a good test
