I really wanted to see Khan/Broner on the May 3rd card but for that kind of coin he should definitely take it.

    Bring on Porter vs Thurman!

    Amusing.

Hearn says Khan could get $5 million if he agrees to Kell Brook fight | Boxing

Matchroom Sport promoter Eddie Hearn has been interested for some time now to try and get Amir Khan (28-3, 19 KO’s) to accept a fight against his fighter unbeaten welterweight contender Kell Brook (31-0, 21 KO’s) for a big fight that he’d stage in the UK, likely in a stadium. It’s a fight that would generate a lot of interest in the British boxing public, and it would give Brook and Khan a chance at getting a huge payday. Hearn says that Khan would get $5 million if he were to say yes to a fight against the unbeaten Brook.

$5 million is probably not worth it for Khan, because if Hearn’s fighter IBF/WBA super middleweight champion Carl Froch stands to make $14 million for his rematch against George Groves, then Khan is worth close to that, even though he’s not as accomplished as Froch, Khan is arguably more popular than him. But Froch would make that huge payday by taking the lion’s share of the purse in getting 85% of it, while the challenge Groves would get only 15%. But Hearn likely would be looking for either a 50-50 or something close to that. He would figure that his fighter Brook would deserve close to parity with Khan despite Brook not being as popular as him with the British public.

Khan should run right at Brook for that kind of cash. And with all due respect to Froch, 14 million? Really?

"It could" hold a lot of weight these days. Then the numbers from an it could statement are regurgitated as fact. I say Froch could make up to 112.62 million. Feel free to use my figure wherever you choose. I can say with absolute certainty he could make that much.

Khan was in line to get 5 mil for fighting Floyd no way is he gonna get it to fight Brook in England. Wouldnt even do particularly well as a PPV unless the card was stacked and given Matchrooms stable this is unlikely to be the case.

As for Froch getting 14mil that has to be complete bullshit.

This is a good thread because it opens up a whole can of worms that piss me off!
1.Khan Shouldn't be making tuppence. He gave up a shot for a title at a weight he's never fought at. He never deserved that , let alone the Mayweather fight!
    2. Brook, (who I like) is happy to give up a mandatory shot because he can make more dough smashing Khan in a domestic dust up. Even if he wins, is he any closer to a world title shot? Does he give a toss? And most importantly does Hearn give a toss?
    3. Hearn. Firstly well done for a great nights entertainment last night, incredible matchmaking. However, does anyone else feel that the reason he offers this big money for these domestic fights is because he knows that if they want world titles, they have to go over the pond and HE won't make as much money!
Khan and Brook have to realise there ain't no shortcuts. Brook should fight Porter and IF he wins and IF he's good enough , it will put him in the mix for the elite fights and the bug money will come anyway. If not, then come back for the money in the UK. As for Khan, he's past caring about and a pathetic joke!

How do these people have the balls to get this rubbish printed.

Froch is getting $14m. $5m is not worth it for Khan because he's bigger than Froch. Hearn would want Brook to get a 50/50 cut (so he's getting $5 million too?).

    Utterly clueless.

If khan was offered this he should take it. I have always felt Brooks would beat Khan at the weight. Amir has stalled his career waiting for diva Floyd to make up his mind.

The object is to make money not win titles.

Khan would make more money fighting Broner on the Floyd card, if there's any truth to that possibility. I think Brook is a harder fight at 147 as well, but that would be good to see.
