What a horrible story. Complete sucker punch of a mentally disabled man, and this SAVAGE is going to be walking the streets in another 2 years. Unreal.

What is it with this culture of blindsiding people with punches? It'd be cowardly enough for that large black guy to beat the shit out of a middle aged mentally disabled white guy in a 1v1 fist fight… but you have to sucker punch the guy when he's not focused on you?

How could anyone other than a SAVAGE think that was acceptable behaviour?

They reduce the term because when you usually punch someone you dont intend to kill them.

The guy is guilty either way and i would want/expect life in prison but the judical laws are bit weak in the uk..hence the 2years.

There is a special place in Hell for oppurtunistic little men like this. I don't agree with lesser terms based on intent and the result marks it all void, or should.

It's heartbreaking to know that that's what the courts deemed that guy's life was worth: 4 years (probably out in 2). That's got to be a hard pill to swallow for the family.

Maybe that defense should fly in a 1v1 FAIR fistfight with a two willing participants, but when you choose to sucker punch an unsuspecting victim, I think the intent to do harm is far greater.

Maybe we should start to teach anger management in schools? Seems people are walking around with an explosive nature these days and are too weak minded or uneducated to deal with it.
They should follow this dudes journey from now on and see what happens to him, follow the sorrow of the family who will do the real life term and use it as an educational warning to kids in schools.

Agreed. I don't think there should be a problem with intent either. That scumbag intended on causing the maximum damage he possibly could with a punch. That damage was death, he's a murderer. He'll get what's coming I'm sure.
