Re: Your Top, Urban Shoot-Em-Up Movies Of All-Time... Non War Movies or Westerns
i ALWAYS get teary-eyed when i watch ABT 1 (used to be my all-time fave movie) when CYF is talking to Leslie Cheung about Ti Lung/Brotherhood and CYF gets a bullet in his head
the plot and acting is way better in ABT 1 than A Better Tomorrow 2, but the gun-fu is way over-the-top in #2... with ABT 1 i feel director John Woo was finding his groove with the gun-fu and in #2 he really flexed his muscles
Add in The Killer also dir'd by John Woo to the list... not John Woo but director Tsui Hark with over-the-top action in A Better Tomorrow 3 - Anita Mui and CYF (with 2 M-16's!) shooting it up
it's been some years since i've watched it, memory fading a little, but Chow Yun-fat was in 2 movies called Rich and Famous and Tragic Hero -- in Tragic Hero, CYF and Andy Lau storm a house/mansion and fireworks abound
