I just offered my opinion on the other thread..

Either..

(a) dive (Liston's family was threatened=motivation as well as money)
(b) weakest chin in history = Liston

Can only be one or the other.

The fact that Liston lost to such a weak opponent as that is testament to how bad a boxer Sonny Liston really was lol.

The slowest HW champ of all time (excluding MAYBE Valuev who was of COMPARALE speed at 320lbs!) and no more coordinated than Tyson Fury!

NOTE: When I say "weak opponent" I am referring to Ali as being weak only as the 22 year old skinny gutted CW named Cassius Clay with fast hands and feet but still with no reflexes, body movement, power, strength or chin and of CW proportions. That is an extremely weak opponent for a previously dominant HW champ the calibre and record of Liston.

Also, I'm sure there is a theory out there that Liston was older than he went on record as being... Which I could agree with because there are plenty of pictures of him where he looks closer to 50 than 40.

It is rumored that the astringent on Liston's gloves used to temporarily blind Ali was none other than powdered thermite and the referee was a pawn of the Illuminati!
