Default What I learned tonight, 5-3-2014.

    1. J'Leon Love needs to work on his defense, his chin is highly suspect.
    2. Now I know who Marco Antonio Periban is.
    3. Adrien Broner is still as big an asshole as ever.
    4. Carlos Molina, from LA, is a good fighter not world class.
    5. Amir Khan is as good as ever, Hunter has helped him.
    6. Luis Collazo can not handle adversity, he falls apart and throws his game plan out the window.
    7. We have the game plan or formula to beat Floyd now. Floyd might be slowing down, finally.
    8. Maidana is much better than we thought.

    How about you?

I have not seen it but that is a nice commentary.

has Floyd slipped enough to lose to Manny PAc or Khan?

Floyd can no longer fight three minutes of a round, is reluctant to use his legs and likes to spoil, foul and hold more than fight but is still an amazingly accurate sharpshooter.

Khan would be hell for Floyd as long as his chin could hold up.

Pac Man would also but would really suffer at the hands of the spoiling etc. (Kahn is equally adept

Floyd slowing down is the biggest part of the night in my book. Thats the first time I recall him looking his age so a fighter like Khan would be trouble for him at this stage. Props to Maidana too because he put a far better showing than I expected.

I don't know, Khan looked very good and we know Manny is.
Honestly, I think it was the unrelenting pressure and (this is going to sound funny) Maidana's jab that gave Floyd the most trouble. Floyd wanted to get close plenty of times in the later rounds but the jab was always there to meet him.
You could tell the cut was on Floyd's mind too, in the first half especially.
Khan has the speed and the jab to bother Floyd but there is no way Khan brings the fight to Floyd like Maidana.
Manny is a great fighter and would give anyone he fights some trouble, but I think he is suffering from the same problem Floyd might have, too many tollbooths on Father Time's toll road.
That's my opinion, for what it's worth. Hahaha, here's another thought, it seems Hopkins is the only fighter with an Express Lane ticket around those tollbooths.

Things can change, but it looks like Broner was overrated. Imagine him against a top guy at 140. How about Broner-Peterson, Broner-Garcia, Broner-Matthysse?

I remember sometime back in the late naughties, about 08 while Mayweather was laying low and Ellerbe was doing all the talking, Ellerbe came out with this line that stuck with me - he said "Mayweather hasn't even had to go into hits bag of tricks yet" which, I'm sure, was in the context of his age, his condition and abilities etc.

It stuck with me simply because I wanted to know what Mayweather would pull out of this bag of tricks but I think I've seen them all now as of last night.

I think they should put him in with both Garcia and Matthysse and just revive him between KO's before throwing him straight back in. Either that or just put him in between two huge pieces of bread seeing as he will end up 95% Cheeseburger anyway.

Pac and Khan have slipped so badly even they know they don't stand a chance.
