How good would you say it is? I think it's pretty good. Even without fighting everyone, he still has wins over:
Canelo
Hatton
Marquez
Guerrero
Judah
Hernandez
Corrales
Manfredy
Cotto
Castillo

It's a great resume. People are always going to nitpick, but at the end of the day Floyd has been a world champion since 1998 and has fought nothing but other champions and top 10 contenders since. And not only has he never lost, the fights there were competitive over the last 16 years you can count on one hand.
I would favor Floyd over Quillin at MW.
Not that great.
Bit overrated if you ask me.
Solid resume. Not as great as those trying to claim he is the GOAT, but definitely respectable. Not as weak as Roy Jones, who is another guy people try to say is the GOAT. I would've liked to have seen Floyd fight Kostya, Stevie Johnston, Paul Williams, Margarito, and Mosely earlier (Floyd tried but Shane turned it down) but u can't fight everyone and some of those guys were the reason the fight didn't happen. The one missed fight I blame him for is the Manny fight, but to be fair Manny had something to do with that as well. Overall Dloyd has beaten some decent competition and is an ATG.
Max kellerman, during his last radio show prior to going to espn, said Roy was the goat. I used to chat on the espn forum n guys there would frequently say the same. So, maybe you've never heard that, but many have said it. The point of bringing Roy into the discussion, is that he faced weak competition.
Roy's competition wasn't as good as Floyd's but it was a LOT better than people give him credit for.
Floyd could have fought Manny, JMM at the weight contracted, Hatton at light welter, Casamajor and Freitas. He also retired for a couple of years and he never fought abroad.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
His biggest achievement is going up at light middle and beating Oscar and Canelo because that is his unnatural weight.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Why is it Floyd's fault those fights never happened? Other than the JMM one of course... do you REALLY think coming in on weight would have made a difference in the outcome?
The Ricky Hatton one always makes me laugh too, considering that Floyd isn't even a true WW anyway.
I've heard of weight cutting weakening fighters, but I've never heard the excuse that not having to cut weight weakened a fighter lol
Floyd haters will always go above and beyond the realms of logic.
