Default George Groves to face Christopher Rebrasse at Wembley Arena

British super-middleweight George Groves will face Christopher Rebrasse in an eliminator for the WBC title on September 20.

Groves has suffered back-to-back defeats to IBF and WBA champion Carl Froch, but after joining forces with promoter Kalle Sauerland, the Londoner has been put into the encounter with the Frenchman at Wembley Arena.

The 28-year-old, who holds a professional record of 22 wins from 27 encounters, won the European title in March and is currently ranked number three with the WBC.

The winner of the fight could secure a showdown with either Sakio Bika or Anthony Dirrell, who meet for the WBC strap next month.

Wembley Arena is a bit optimistic.

Good to see him back so quickly. He is a talented fighter and I hope he can bounce back. Groves outboxed Froch in both fights and was unlucky both times. A couple of quick confidence boosters and he can challenge the top again.

It only holds about 10,000 doesn't it? They'll probably set it up for less than that. Groves thought he was a permanent SKY attraction during the Froch lark, unless Sauerland do a deal with a terrestrial it's back to the one man and a dog channel.

Could be a Channel 5 Job .. i hope he can do a deal and get on Sky somehow!

This could well be an eliminator to Bika so he needs to win this at all costs but fair play for bouncing back so fast

First question in the press conference - "will it be on SKY?"

I don't think you can get on SKY without Hearn at the moment, Haye signed some loose link up with Matchroom to get three dates.

Sauerland have an agreement with Warren for their shows to be on Box Nation but it runs out at some point this year.

Probably will be on Box Nation, looked at Christopher Rebrasse record and he has not been stopped.

Good to see him back soon, he's definitely capable of beating anyone bar Froch and Ward at 168, at least imo.

I think it might be good for him to travel and get some different sparring, pair up with a good defensive trainer etc. He has a tonne of ability but fights very tense all the time, seems like he wastes a lot of energy and over thinks what he is doing at all times.
