Default So who will be Joshuas first opponent?

Currently fighting guys who he doesn't have to prepare for and also guys that he is basically told about 2 weeks before he fights them.

So when it gets to the stage that he needs to pick a fighter that's decent and he has to have a camp to prepare for, who do you think it'll be?

I'd say Seth Mitchell would be a good first step up for him.

How much fights does he have now? 5 or 6? Let this man rack up some more feeders. I wouldn't put him in with a guy that can really fight until his 15th fight or so- trust me, he can run to 15 and 0 by mid to late 2015. Easily.

He doesn't need feeders. I dint understand this logic.

He needs guys who aren't gonna spoil and will let him work.

Beyond that you want guys without too much Power.

    Is John McDermott still fighting?

He does need some more ex British title holder or recent challenger levels now. Skelton wasnt bad but hes not really had a career for years.

He is 7(7)-0-0 now yeah and I'd suggest a few more bums to warm him up, no doubt.

I'm just saying - when it gets to that time, who should it be?

Seth Mitchell has to be in the mix, A very good first decent win for Joshua.

He can box better than Mitchell... Mitchell also is dangerous and may last two rounds... plus he will hit Joshua and test his chin... a good step up, but I feel Mitchell is out of the fight game. He has been seriously exposed...

You guys are killing me. Man! Give this guy a chance to mature a little.
He sparred with Wlad, now Wlad is saying good things about him. Wlad says good things about other boxers all the time.
He's fighting decent opponents. He's had 7 pro bouts, winning all by KO. Let him progress at a pace his handlers know will be best for him.

Once again, if you people read the damn posts.......

I NEVER once read "rush him rush him".

I'm asking about once he IS ready to step up.

    Jesus.

He has had 7 pro fights and you are wondering who he is going to "step up against" a year or more from now!
With all the things that could happen in boxing before Anthony is ready to "step up", it doesn't make sense to even think about it. IMO
Look at Brook, he was brought along at a moderate pace and now he's a Title holder brimming over with confidence, poise, and adaptability.
Experience in hard times and good times is what a talent like Joshua needs the most. I'm worrying he might be rushed beyond his experience.

I think Josh could end up fighting price in a good domestic fight after price gets exposed again.

Price is a guy who could KO any domestic fighter and he will be avoided.
The pickey would be a less risk fight.

If Joshua gets a good fight in before November it will kill the box office for Chis versus Tyson O'Fury, not that it was ever going to be very big anyway!
