Sand Pebbles, great movie. He had a long life. Peace be with him, let's hope Miles lives to at least 90
Sat in a train with him once in the eighties through Southfields. Rip.
Directed one of my childhood favs (thanks to dad) in Bridge too Far. Must have sat thru that and Sand Pebbles 20+ times ha. RIP sir.
A fine actor and director, RIP Mr Attenborough.
What an amazingly rich and fulfilled life he lived. Did an enormous amount for other people too. He could be a bit mawkishly sentimental at times but then it is much easier and unhelpful to be cynical. Kingsley,Hopkins and many others did some of their best work with him and he was a great actor himself. RIP
Remember in in Jurassic Park. Did he do an other great films?
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Many, here's a list:

He won the Best Director Oscar for Gandhi.
Rip.
To be cynical means not turning things to mush. It pays to balance sentimentality and cynicism.
90 is a very good innings and he can have few complaints, though a cricket player might say 'Darn it, I only needed 10 more. My only complaint is the number of people confusing him with David, the wildlife expert. Short of surname similarities, they should not be mixed up and that's where a healthy cynicism comes in useful. One cannot be mawkish about such things. It doesn't strike me as very cute or endearing.
